Hi Guys, I continue on with an overall view of the model

A stern view, note my oil drums also the still and the drum with the can undernieth.

Both blast bags painted.

Overall view from above.

Stern blast bags painted, I have not mentioned it before about the small reel on the stern.

4 Barrels painted, deck blue on top, ready for action.

Great job Ron!!. You have captured the elegant, sleek and powerful lines of the actual ship, and your subtle weathering and details, like the oil drums, really bring her to life.

Since I am not in the RC business, the model is basically done. As the building of HMS Iron Duke, a really great and illustrative thread.

Looks good Admiral. Better have the deck hands move those drums or you'll have oil all over your deck when someone travises the turret.

Hello Ron, it has taken a couple of weeks to read all the posts, well worth the time, I have found many useful tips and pointers. I do have a couple of questions, I notice that you wrap the litho around a block of wood, is the wood removed? what do you use to cut the litho, what will the total weight be?

Hi Guys , I turned the model around to show the starboard side.

The walk ways have just been painted and show darker than the port side.

Viewed from above, the rear barrels are painted haze grey.

Mid ships

Bow shot.

The quad 40,s and the twins have had a round section of anti slip placed under the guns.

The quad 40 has had it,s shield made and fitted, litho the matierial.

She's looking great with her barrels fitting. Love the weathering too of course. An ugly ship it is, but at least you made a perfect model of it!

back on board after 9 days forced pc abstenance

just been catching up on what you've done
love the barrells and the drums are a nice touch, the sand paper use for walk ways is a brilliant idea.
Cant wait till you get to the R/C install, but be warned, as somebody new to this side of ship modelling you'll have to forgive me in advance for all the stupid questions i'm going to ask

Hi Guys, You may think you have seen this picture before, no, everything is being fixed in position, the #1 turret is fix in position but can be turned by hand, #2 turret is fixed in that position.

Overall view, you can see the new cast lifeboats have been painted, not finished yet , still got all the ropes to paint in.

Over head Bow shot.

A nice overhead shot of the rear superstructure, anti slip around the quads showing up well , quads are glued in position, as are the vent and box,s

You may just see the anti skid mat under the twin bofor, radar glued in position .

Overall shot of all the work to date.

I took this picture with the camera on my tripod, It looks a little sharper, im not saying I have got the shakes , one does not realise how much the camera shake when taking pictures. As you can see the quad 40 shield has been painted, also you can see my reel fixed to the rear casement.
