I can only agree with all these compliments given the last pages!

Personally I have only an USS Essex of 75% unfinished status in my yard and no big ideas about carriers because Dreadnought battleships are my main interest ... but your awesome detail orgy here let me thinking about what all can be put into these hangar decks at least! Also it encourages me to make more at my Essex when restarting her one day.

It is really impressing what you do here and my chin drags over the floor looking your report here!

I started painting some of the hangar deck gear. I finished the four A/S32A-32A "spotting dolly's" that are used in the hangar and for elevator spotting of aircraft. Generally these are white, but in 2001 aboard Enterprise, I found them to be yellow. I was going to airbrush them, but these were hand painted as evident in the photos. I will end up airbrushing the rest of the deck gear. It provides a much smoother and better looking surface. I have also been working on painting the hangar deck as well. I will post photos once I have a good majority to show.

Been following your build for the past several months, your posts never fail to impress.
If your airwing isn't already built I'll love some extra detail on how you get the killer results you have shown thus far.

I think I have said it before doug, but I'll say it again.... These are hands-down the best aircraft I have seen on any CVN model in this scale. They put mine to shame! Absolutely great job.

as I often say ,anything is "possible" in 350 ,it is "sufficient" to put his heart,Doug has put his all heart and all its know-how for a result out of the ordinary this man shall an ET equipped with two or three hearts with a flying-saucer filled of know-how , but I think that he comes in peace

Brian, thanks a bunch. I have all of the E/A-6B's, S-3's, the C-2, and one F-18C completed, but I still have the E-2's, F-14's, and the rest of the F-18's to finish so I will see what I can come up with for you.

Ryan, I really appreciate the comment considering we have some very talented modelers on this site, yourself included. Don't sell your airwing short, they turned out great. Especially your aggressors, those things are freakin sweet! Hopefully I can do the rest of the airwing justice. The repetetive work tends to get old, but it's worth it in the end.

Are you using a mix of the Tamiya airwing and the Trumpeter Air wing, and if so which do you find to be "better" of the two? Cheers.

The S-3's that I built are Tamiya, and the H-60 helos that I will be building are from Veteran models, the rest of the aircraft are and will be from Trumpeter. I like Trumpeter aircraft for the detail they provide, plus most come with fuel tanks and they are easier to work with. I like the fact the kits are pieced together which makes modifying the parts easier too. I have read that some modelers like the Tamiya aircraft because they are more accurate in shape. Especially with the F-14's where the canopy is concerned. However, the Trumpeter F-14's provide the stored wing sweep, which look better when parked on the deck, and would prove difficult to do with the Tamiya F-14's without some serious modifications. It's just personal preference. When I start building the rest of the aircraft, I will try and post some photos of the modifications and maybe do some side by side comparisons between the Tamiya and Trumpeter aircraft. Yeah, don't just open the boarding ladder, put the pilot's footprints on the steps too , like I know you wanted to. A technical question: How did you manage to put those ejection seats in without setting off the explosive charges? Ahhh, maaaaaaaaaan! I knew I was in for a tough competetion, but really? was all that detail neccessary? Awesome Prowler Doug!!

I made sure the safety pins were in place prior to installing them....one of those things could put an eye out!!! hahaha Thanks for your comments Laci. Keep pushing the boundaries!!

I finally have started adding some color to the hangar deck. I have my "hangar wall inserts" all painted and am in the process of placing a million tiny decals all over. The decals were made by ModelWarships member Rouyax (Patrice) and man are do they really make the hangar deck look sweet! Thanks for all the work you put into them Patrice! They are really nice. You can find Rouyax's thread here viewtopic.php?f=12&t=34259. Some of these decals will come in handy for the island and various other areas around the ship too. Anyway, here is some in progress pics...........

Excellent! I love the dark wash you gave everything! I modeled Reagan as she was pretty new, so the hangar was clean, but seeng this, I am now really wishing I had taken more artistic freedom and made it more grimy. That really makes the details pop out. Keep it up man, looks beautiful.

How long have you been working on Enterprise anyway?

I am guessing almost 3 years now. I started on the island a while back before joining here. I have been doing research for almost all of that time. After joining ModelWarships.com in October 2012, is when I really started working on it. I don't know how long it will take to complete though as it seems I have been struck with Advanced Modelers Syndrome with this one! But, I have always wanted a super detailed carrier for my collection and that was the plan for this one so I will be sticking to it until its finished. Thanks Ryan.

Thanks Nicolas! I finished the decals on the rest of the hangar walls and will probably start painting the hangar deck floor shortly. Here are some photos of the rest of the walls. I also added the "AIMD" banner to the forward hangar deck on the catwalk. I still need to install a few more items like fire extinguishers, some hose reels, etc...but won't do that until I get the walls secured to the hangar floor.
