Re: Calling all IJN Yamato & Musashi fans
[quote="baseballbrat"]Any of you guys know about these two Pontos "Advanced" PE/Resin Sets? No one has commented online or written any reviews. What Does "Advanced" mean?
I've got the original set earlier this year but not the Ver 2.
The advanced add on set is to be used with the original set which has additional details.
The advanced detail up set includes both the original set and the advanced add on set.
I ordered my advanced add on set back in March but ordered it knowing it would be backordered, which has shipped today. LuckyModels.com's website shows 3 Advanced Add on sets in stock as well as 6 of the Detail up sets of each of the 1st version and 2nd version sets.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Gerry!!!
I too have the original set, so I will order the Add On Set.
My other question would be what's the difference between the original and V.2?
Jim
PS: The V.2 set is available at spruebrothers.com

Re: Calling all IJN Yamato & Musashi fans
Just a note to my original post on the new Pontos Detail up sets...............
Sprue Brothers has all three sets in stock at very reasonable prices. The advantage of dealing with them is all orders requested by noon everyday are shipped same day. I just ordered and 2 hours later my order was shipped. You can't ask more than that.
spruebrothers.com
This store works best for US customers, but they also ship overseas at a discounted rate.

Hi Jim,
Not sure what the difference is since Pontos does not list but did notice there is V.2 for the Bismarck sets which does list the difference.
Maybe a question for Mr Kim.

Amazing!
Even after the apocalyptic explosion and 70 years underwater the wood chrysanthemum crest is still intact!
Is that bits of gold leaf still on the bottom right corner?

It is very likely the Gold Leaf is intact. Gold does not readily oxidize, or react easily with salts (such as Sea Water).cplchanb wrote:Amazing!![]()

BUT.... The Gold would be likely either covered by growths that would have destroyed it, or the water would have loosened (ate) the adhesive that held it to the crest.
So it very well could have some remaining on it.

Re: Calling all IJN Yamato & Musashi fans
L'Arsenal's website is weird that way - direct links to their English product pages almost always result in that message, but if you link to the French version or search for the item from the main page, it'll be there. Probably due to how it handles your language preferences.
Anyway, you can find the availability announcement in the forum: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=156577&start=20#p695944

Just heard that an updated edition of Skulski's "Anatomy of the Ship: The Japanese Battleship Yamato" will be released in March 2017. It will not only cover Yamato, but apparently have sections for Musashi and Shinano as well.

Doug, Once it runs, you should be able to search the Japanese drama sites online and possibly be able to download it. I will keep an eye out! Good chance it might show up on YouTube too!

It's a good price, but little too early to pre-order! Of course I'm getting a copy!Thomas E. Let's hope there's some good CGI scenery! Any idea what the plotline is supposed to be?baseballbrat wrote:Doug, Once it runs, you should be able to search the Japanese drama sites online and possibly be able to download it. I will keep an eye out! Good chance it might show up on YouTube too!
