It looks good so far. Are the barrels of the 127mm guns longer than normal ??? Is it a whif gun ???

I believe he's installed twin 5"/54s ala the Montanas as well as 3"/50s. She'll be a beaut man!

as you can see guys i'[m doing the best i can with 1/800 scale. i cut with razorblade to expose the cathc lines near stern. very tired. since then i have freated the aircraft for the hangar but the LED is just not broducing enough light to be a "representable model" in my future gallery. my goal is for the light to at least glow onto the elevators. further experimentation willbe required....

i'm trying for utmost realism, but when i got to the planes today, i realized that this scale is very difficult to achieve this. like nek or was it Orb, put it right....1/800 scale can spiral a man into insanity....

you shoudl see my planes.. thrying to create a squadron look by painging the top fins different colors....is this all i can do? i want to creat squadrons, yellow, blue, green....but with the scale, i either can paint the entire plane, or just keep with the tail rudders...

also, i cut the decales with a razor blade after one day of setting. i cut them to reveal the "catch lines" near stern. is that what they are generally called?

Thanks, Cliffy, and he's right - those are 5/54 twins as per Montana's planned fit, as well as the 3/50 mounts - two singles on the bridge wings, three twins along the aft section.

Here is the LPD-4003 99% finished. Most of the PE is placed.

No PE nets are added though because i do not have any left. Some final corrections must be made and that s it.

Yeah, I figured I'd do a maxed-out WW2 era Gearing DD for this project, and then you started showing me the Chao Yang, and the Hellenic Gearing, and told me about the Turkish one, so I'm going to do a Gearing DDG model eventually.

Avery, Thank you for your kind words. Yes they are very handsome ships and i recommend this kit to anyone building postwar ships.

Megadeth - first off, great pick on a name, you'll have to tell me where you came to it. Second, at 1/700 scale, if you invest in a nice fine brush, 3/0 or 5/0 - ask at an art store you're likely to find them - you can do a little bit more than that, especially if you just go for broke and paint your canopies - remember, some of the Squadrons out there painted the spines of their aircraft as well, known examples include the Rogers (ugh), the Death Dealers, the Playboys, and others. You could also go for broke, and if you have spare birds, take a whack at preparing the carrier for Exercises, embarking an Aggressor squadron or two if you wanted to jazz up your display.

John - the displays look great, very nicely done.

Karl - yeah, I've got a few ideas in mind for the Geared Up Gearing, so to speak.

Carl its been a while since you last posted. Tomorrow i ll send you something that will make you very happy. Its a U.S.N. submarine in 1/700. I m sure you do not have this one. Tell me didn't you want to make a dio of a submarine tender with subs alongside???
