Hi guys,

both builds look brilliant! I agree, some people would certainly add life to your carrier John. I've used a few of the Eduard figures and I think they're really nice actually. I'm planning on using them for my LHD, too.

Fantastic build John.

I have used Eduard figures and i m pleased with the result. They give you the opportunity to give life to your carrier. I m sure you will impress us once more with your next build too.

Beautiful CVN-71, Mr. Goodacre!! Very clean! Very sharp and crisp! I hope that I do as well when I get around to building carriers. Yours will be a fine sample to follow for reference.

I don't think I've ever seen aircrafts in that scale, I think they might just be 1/144 aircrafts.

Looks awesome! Both the ship and the diorama. What are the dimensions of the base... and what about the water? That looks great!

The water area measures about 14" x 23" and is made with PLASTRUCT's clear "Agitated Water" plastic sheet that I painted over the top of with Dark Sea Blue enamel spray, Model Master Acrylic greens, and topped with Model Master Lacquer Gloss coat.

I made the wood base, myself, and routered a grove around the perimeter to accommodate a custom plexiglass case that has yet to be ordered through my local trophy shop.

The docks and buildings are from BFM and the crane is from the Skywave Drydock kit.

This is something i started this weekend. Some small sub dioramas.







I guess i m affected by the fantastic dioramas presented by Carl, Heiko and John. This is something to get started on dioramas. Almost my first attempt. Not something much. I ll post more photos when finished.

The water isn t something much. I just painted the bases provided for the Arii subs. I think it looks rather good with a little effort Next step in the diorama process is to make my own simple water base in a port diorama.

Looks like you got your feet wet in the water effect business! Good job!

For my navy base dio I used Plastruct's clear "agitated water" which comes in a sheet 14" x 24" or so. I used a whole sheet on my navy base dio, but it is easily cut into pieces. I wasn't sure how I'd conceal any seams in the water if I used more than one large sheet, so my dio is just the size of one of the large sheets.

I'm not sure what one could do with the Plastruct stuff for submarines. If the boats are cut exactly to the water line, it would work I'd think, but if not, you'd need to sink them into the water medium like you've done, above. I don't intend on putting any subs in my dio.

Thanks to Kenny Loup and his Tamaroa decals and my own red and blue stripe decals, my model is continuing to shape up.

Congratulations, it looks really good and it's quite nice to see a ship in colours
