I started a new project yesterday, Jose and Gernot would mourn what I'm doing right now, but so far she's coming along rather decently. No pictures yet, because there's only minor progress just yet.

Carl - the Cutter looks nice, she's doing well. The Diorama looks good too.

ASFC - looks like an interesting Auxiliary ship, looking forward to your progress.

Good lookin Tamaroa, back in 70 when I was on the Zellars we broke down 100 mi
east of Montauk Pt NY she came out from Govenors Island Ny and towed is in. Waiting to see how she turns out.

Another awesome project! I really like the fact that you build ships that are 'out of the ordinary' from what most of us are building here. Never having scratchbuilt anything I need to ask...where do you get the plans/blueprints for you models?

I don't. I get the basic lengths and dimensions, convert to 1/700, get a good set of photos and of I go. If I could find cheap/free plans I would use them....but I rarely find any.

These ships aren't really 'out of the ordinary' just ones kit manufacturers have at the bottom of a long list of models to make.

I mean ffs there should have been a Rover class kit years ago. Not only is it used by three different navies (so a big enough audience to sell it to) but the RN frigate kit list is expanding all the time. What gives?

Queens day today.
very bad day :S
A guy 38 years old, whas driving a suzuki swift into the audiants that where looking at the queen and her family.
This guy did it on perpose, stupid terrorist.
4 people day at this moment and 12 people in treat of dying.
My condoleances to the victims.

I whas today also bizzy whit my uss saratoga ,decals on the deck.

Here u can see what i did.
I know it isnt alot.
But the handbook didnt show me quite good how to do it.
So i had to measure every single milimeter to fit it.
Now i got the half sheetpaper placed on the deck (i quess )
Im not quite happy actually.
The ronald reagan i made, fast done and looks fine.
But this is to shiny...
I can see myself almost in it.
How to fix this?

Ok, I'm even more impressed now that you build them without plans! I for one am waiting for a Supply Class kit, although I'm pretty sure that I might have to wait a long time and scratchbuilding seems to be the only option, I don't think I'm quite up to it yet. I'll just sit back and continue to watch you and hopefully learn a bit

Yeah, but the handbook is wrong to.
1. no handbook about how to put on the decals.
2. alot of stuff is said wrong,scratched it to the correct stuff.
Like the ciws platform at the side whit 3 lifts for planes, it whas on deck on the model.
In real it whas in the air whit poles beneath to the deck.
3. the handbook is so weird, even a smart person doesnt know how to do it.
theres the ship, and an object above.
Whit an arrow down.
While u can put it very below waterzone, ore above.
Where to put it exactly?

Mitch i feel sorry to hear these news. It looks like we modelbuilders are not so crazy afterall. And if we are we are kind of nice crazy people that don't harm others.


Nice progress so far Mitch. I m looking forward to seeing more in progress pictures.

My first small dioramas are finished.

The first attempt was not as hard as i imagined it to be. I haven t done something very hard though. I am not very satisfied with the waves i created but its my first try so i expect that i ll improve with time.
