1) I really really like... no--I love ! ==> the crewman aft sitting and staring in contemplation !!
that is one of the funniest things I have seen on MW.com for many a year!! :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

2) Awning looks good-- however-- as a I am a canvas guy .. . ( about to be retired wohoo!) :cool_2: .
I checked back to your original image

a) I think the canvas was fastened/ laced underneath the coaming rail not on top ( yellow arrows in pics )

b) I think maybe the frame may have been a bit narrower on the top? ie the canvas had a greater angle on the sides ?( green lines in pic )

c) I think the frame may have had a central spine--I think it appears so in the image?

what do you think? or have you better images... that I have not seen !

Hope to helpful :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks for the advice JIm!

So I redesigned the cover, the result is much more convincing. I didn't make the laces because I want to be able to paint and glue the cover separately.

What shall I say :good_job:

Actually, are the chiimneys closed on purpose, e.g. a cover against water entering them?

Tks!

There's a hole, but it's a bit clogged with resin.

Beginning of the painting. Nothing is glued.

This nice little boat is now finished, I simplified it a bit because of the size ( 25 mm long ), I'm going to print it now and go to the 13 mts one, there is only one, it is placed at the top on the port side on the platform, it has a special place because it is very long.

Youyou printed with 20 micron layers with Photon Ultra.

Putting in place the canvas of the 13 mts boat, as I only have the plan of the 10 mts boat, I have very slightly lowered the vertical scale of the hull.

very excellent works !

so the term ' You You... is a generic French term for a small skiff?

I had only ever come across the term 'You You' in connection with You You's built by Bugatti...(!))

...rare Bugatti Type 75 You-You Boat from circa 1946. The boat was designed by Ettore Bugatti
and crafted in his Maisons-Laffitte shipyard shortly after WW2.
Production of the boats ceased after Ettores death in 1947,
and it is estimated that less than 30 were ever built. Only a handful are extant today.

interesting!

cheers JB

It is probable Jim, the term is still used in France at the moment in the world of the sail and the marine in general.

Interesting link: https://maineboats.com/blog/2021/artisa ... tti-tender

"Very rare leaflet presenting the motorboat "You-You" from the Maisons-Laffitte shipyards by the Bugatti firm. Fully illustrated with drawings by Geri, the front cover shows the dinghy with a family, the back cover shows the engine, and inside, several detailed views and a skinning. "In his shipyard, Ettore Bugatti had the "You-You" built, a pleasure boat with a 4-stroke engine, positioned in the bow in front of the pilot. Three lengths were available. It seems that about fifty engines were built. An advertising leaflet was even printed in 1946. This light boat had a small engine of 2 to 5 hp. When Ettore died in 1947, his son Roland Bugatti continued the business until 1963" (maisons-laffitte-hier website)."

The hull of this big 13 mts boat is almost finished.

I'll see if I place the missing ribs or not, it's going to take some time, but it would be nicer and fairer.

I'll be able to furnish the interior now.

Thanks Jim.

Depending on the size of the boat, this table summarizes the number of masts, the number of sails, and the surface.

I had time tonight to find the right method with the drawing program to create fake/real frames in addition to the ones used for the hull drawing, without spending hours, given the number.

With all the exposed ribs, it looks much better of course.

It needs to be tweaked a bit. More tomorrow.
