Beware of white water-in a rolling non-stormy swell -

==> less is more-- :big_grin:


look at your chosen wind direction ( flag on ships ) you can afford some "wave smack" on the carriers static hull on the windward side...

to leeward only slight foaming to outline the hull --intermittently only ...

Your concern is justified! :)

That's what I had in mind: less is more indeed!
In this diorama, the main action is spectacular enough and consitutes the story. So the sea shouldn't distract from that, so I don't want to make the sea into a spectacular attraction. And as you pointed out, that wouldn't be very drealistic in the given conditions anyway.

I only plan obvious whitewater with three small boats speeding to or away from the carrier. And tiny bits around liferafts and crew in the water.

Only some waves will be breaking against the carrier and destroyer, but indeed very intermittent and small. And a couple of waves breaking at the top here-there mid-sea, but again only very limited and small.

Hello:

This is amazing work, to say the least, your attention to detail is noteworthy and painstaking. I just finished reading a book by Stanley Johnston who was a Chicago reporter on the Lexington when it was sunk. He mentions the lack of sharks, even though they were in known shark infested waters; he contributed the lack of sharks to the ongoing explosions in the ship that sent out shock waves, and feels that the shock waves were instrumental in keeping the sharks away. He observed the whole evacuation of the ship, the rescue efforts and noted not one fin was ever spotted. I wish my buddys dad was still alive, he was an embarked Marine on the Lexington during this time. I remember him saying that he was on the Lexington and he was rescued, he was later wounded on one of the Island campaigns. Saipan I think it was. But I digress. Truly great work and a great story.

A world class work of art. Beautifully done and very dramatic. The closer one looks, the more one sees. And there are stories within stories as one looks around the diorama.

it's just indescribable !!!everything is there, we feel the dramatic atmosphere , I hear the orders and the evacuation hooters ,the smoke burns my eyes .....in brief , we are immersed in history , thanks to your talent ,it is a complete success ,there was a before Marjin, now ,there are your diorama,and as I have said
