About 25% of the whole... but as we're adding new stuff evry month... Can't be more acurate.

Nearly 95% of our scratch is custom made photo-etching.
From our experience, skill level required goes from intermediate to extremely challenging

Hey, thanks a lot for replying to all of the posts. Are the "bad" PE sets you made still up for grabs? I'm not kidding, but no guarentees.

Have you two ever thought of starting your own harbor accessory line? You could work together with L'Arsenal, Battlefleet, Loose Cannon or White Ensign Models and make these part of the long abandoned "Dockyard Mateys" line. :jump_1: :lol_3:

Actually, is there any possible way to get my hands on your vehicles and your cranes? like you did to staffyu? - viewtopic.php?f=59&t=45166

I must say, you two are really THE MASTERS When it comes to this. I would be getting these sets, but I still have doubts about international shipping - mostly how much they cost, and the length of time until delivery. Still thinking about it though.

I know I'm being a bad sport, and please forgive me, but I can only do one thing every time I visit this thread: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint: :faint:

Sorry for jumping in again, I should have asked a while ago, could you please tell me the size of the completed diorama (board size that will be used in the finished diorama).

The scale is 1/700me. As said Bruno, 85x53cm (In French measure), almost one yard on an Alf.

I have no doubt about this: THIS IS THE BEST QUALITY I'VE SEEN IN MY 5 YEARS OF MODELLING. (I know 5 years is nothing for many of you guys, but still everyone has to agree) :lol_4: :nod_1:

Just one question though, how much time do you guys have on your hands? Seriously?

Also, I have the Verlinden Shipyard set #1, and I see there is a similar building there like one you guys have made, just, I have put an AA gun on mine and it is still in progress.

Hello Sr. Gopher,
Our first photos on this forum are from January 2008, you can see this building on page 1 and 3. It was made in 2007.
Im in love with Mare Island from 2003, when I discover The Navsource site. Since, Im always working with Bruno on this project. The dio is not finished; we have still a lot of work on it.
Hope you enjoy with it!!!
Friendly, Jean

I'm sorry my posts have taken up almost a full page, but Jean, I know I speak for all model railroaders on this Forum when I ask: Are those RR buildings commercially available? :cool_2:

Thank you for your testimony
King and Queen seem forgotten well in bay of San Francisco. It was very difficult to reconstitute the plans of these ships starting from the rare photographs of time 1942/45.
If you have some photographs of this period, I would be very happy to look at them.
The life of the wearing of Mare Island is an enthralling subject to look through the photographs taken at that time and I study it since 2001. To reconstitute this environment is a long-term job and we are still far, Bruno and me, to have completed it!
Best Regards
Jean

Hello Folks :wave_1:

Just this reminder to tell you we've resumed work on our Mare Island diorama after a looooong stay (due to health trouble for both of us).
Now we're back.
We hope one or both of our dioramas will be ready for Telford 2011 (both of us actually is building his own dio).
In about two months from now we'll post our progress again.

In the meantime, here are some pictures of Jean's dio (the prototype one) in its present state:

To be continued soon.

Excuse me while I scrape my jaw off the floor with a spatula.

Good to hear your health problems have been overcome.
