Alright out with the info Nektarios. I searched hi and low for a few years for a Jim Shirley Arsenal ship, where the hell did you find 4 of them????????

No Iowas will not be sunk as targets i will simply sell two of them and keep

U.S.S. New Jersey as it was in 1984 and U.S.S. Missouri during D.S.

It is simple seek something and you will find it.

Pavel Vacata of Admiralty modeworks has some old JSP Arsenal ships. I asked for four and got them. I can t believe how lucky i am. Now if i find an Oriskany i will find almost all the ships i was seeking.

I will consider these names when the time comes to name the arsenal ships.

Nektarios, I've never seen those Arsenal ships before, interesting ships. As for the names, I would opt for something along the lines of... USS Warlock, or so Nice diorama with the subs, too!

As for me, this is probably going to be the last post for now since I'm going to be gone for a little while. I haven't gotten around to working on my LHD at all for the past few weeks due to exams and preparations for the trips, so I'm already very eager to get back to it once I get back.

Also looking forward to reading all the posts from this point on and seeing all the interesting ships that everybody will surely be building. See you all in October.

So, it's been a little while... I've got some things to show off here:

First up, my Japanese Gripen - it's almost done, and Nektarios suggested I show it off here, so here's a few shots - I took a few shots of the engine nozzle as well, to show off the detail - one normal, one flashed, one photoshopped of the normal.


















Now for a few shots of the Sprukidd - I got inspiration, and I've been working a lot on the project - I never liked the Spruance/Tico off-center stack arrangement, so I set them both forward and moved some of the above-structure systems to the aft block. I've got the majority of the systems fitted, she's coming along well. In essence, the ship's potentially the furthest upgrade possible, without VLS, that I can think of. The buyer (it's an exported ship) was refitted with the Oto Melara 5" Compact, and the bow was given the extra flaring from the Ticon. Yes, I haven't done ALL the detail work on the CIWS mountings, the radomes have not been done in proper white just yet.

From where did you got the 127mm oto melara compact??
Where do you guy's buy the 1/700 guns at all!!

Very interesting What-ifs. Especially the Sprukidd is a real 50-50 mix of Spruance and Kidd classes.

Those Oto Compacts I got amongst a mixed bag of spares from John Currie. You can get them on the European Weapon Set that comes with ships like the HMS Invincible, and the Type 42 Destroyers. There's also Goalkeepers in there, and other weapons that have been used around Europe.

Really Very Impressive builds there Simon i look forward to seeing more progress.

By putting both funnel structures there, you would be rerouting a lot of the engineering piping through the main superstructure - how this affects the external looks would be up to you, of course.
