Hi Roel Yes I did and I did reply. Thanks for your comments and thanks for the occasional nudge to get my self into gear and do a few posts. Regarding the build sequence go back to the previous page it shows it all there.

what a master.

Making up the numerous maintenance platforms that will be fitted either
side of the �Side Globe� ECM domes was time consuming .These are clustered
up the side of the superstructure as this picture of Kiev shows.

Each platform is cut to size and their positions on the side of the
superstructure marked

On the smaller platform the single angled support frame is off set.
Were as on the longer platform this is fixed in the centre.

Fixing the surrounds .

There are two length of platform. This shows the smaller type fitted either side of each ECM dome .

Beneath each lower ECM dome are the two extended platforms. In due course these will be fitted with rails but for now one less job to do .

These are formed using layers of 2.5mm styrene built up , cut and shaped .{ I'll show how this was done} Once again life would have been much easier if I'd set to and moulded the lot .Yet surprisingly once started the process didn't take that long and I quite enjoy , in a perverce way making work! Also thanks for all your comments much appriciated.

But can you tell me, how you doing the rings for the cable tracked up to the Top Sail radar array??
And by the way, what material do you use as surrounds for the platform??

Hi Martin The cable do you mean the arms that supports the lower section of the large array . The brass wire used was 0.5mm and 0.31mm With each brass stabilizing sail 0.25mm in thickness . The upper platform is formed from 1mm styrene. Thanks for asking .

When building Moskva I used a frame for the Top Sail
covered in fine mesh.

Each part of the FRAS-1 launcher was cut to size and made ready to
assemble almost like a kit of parts.

The arms were cut to shape and the launch rail fitted.

Holes were marked and drilled into the pillar ready to fit the treads.

A method used to ensure that each tread is the same.

The twin armed �FRAS-1� launcher known as the SUW-N-1 temporarily in place.
