Same here. I can not afford HLJ pricing. I keep my eye on Hobbyeasy and Plaza. Heck, even some eBay pricing is cheaper than HLJ on occasion.

On the Other hand, HLJ have stuff in stock. Try getting an IJN 1/700 full hull kit from HE and Plaza- stock practically non-existent.

Edit 2/22/20: 1/700 Pit-Road Kagero 1939 pricing:
Plaza Japan is $21.78. With cheapest shipping total is $27.00.
HLJ is $23.93. With cheapest shipping total is $30.86
Both are in stock. (Ships to Philly Pa. for my estimate)
That's a $3.86 difference. I generally get 2 or 3 items on an order and that amounts to even bigger savings compared with HLJ.
I have never had an issue with Plaza's shipping.

There is likely a bug at HLJ. I see from time to time a much higher price. As Petr wrote there is a problem with the conversion.

HLJ pricing works fine on my end - $31 CAD. The currency conversion option in the blue bar at the top of the screen works fine for me.

What-If Ibuki is one of my favorite what-ifs. I guess I don't have to finish my conversion of the Tamiya Kumano.

Be interesting to see if they fit it out any differently from the completed sisters.

I looked at the pictures of the forthcoming Aoshima releases of Dorsetshire (a re-release) and Cornwall (a new release) on the HobbySearch website and I can say with a degree of confidence that the Dorsetshire kit is indeed a "corrected" 1/700 scale version. I say this because it shares a number of distinctive engineering features with the more recent Norfolk kit, rather than the original Dorsetshire kit (I have both).

The kit details says it's for the "Bismarck chase", so I assume that even if it's corrected it won't be accurate for the Indian Ocean in 1942?

The kit with the number 808 kit is the one corrected to 1/700 (except of some parts of the bridge). There are not many differences between Dorsetshire's fits of May 1941 and April 1942. Dorsetshire got a single 40 mm on the stern, Type 290 radar on the foremast, and Type 284 radar (with a Type 285 antenna) on the DCT (see British Cruisers Two World Wars and After by Norman Friedman). These parts are either already included or cannot be depicted by plastic parts.

I just received my Aoshima Dorsetshire this morning. I compared the hull sides to the Cornwall kit and they match right up. I didn�t check out the bridge parts though.
