After closer inspection it looks like it is Scharnhorst 1940 on the boxside of the Gneisenau kit, not Hood.

AA fit, closed bridge and radars, new stern walk, and deck markings, all correct for 1945-46

ilovekit is clearly another Trumpeter rebrand, if you look at all the other offerings: https://www.1999.co.jp/eng/search?typ1_ ... y=ilovekit

As to what the logic is...maybe they needed another brand to operate under to access Japan that for some reason Monochrome doesn't suffice?

Definitely reboxed Trumpeter kits. But "Ilovekit" is grammatically wrong, lol.

I think the reason why is because Trumpeter ceased their relationship with Merit.

Some seller are starting to "sell" Flyhawks Scharnhorst 1940 on Ebay. A warning though, they dont have the model yet. It ships within 30 days.

What would the difference between a Scharnhorst 1940 and a 1943 be? Less AA? is there anything more?

Comparing the promo images such as this (https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/PSQAAOSw ... -l1600.jpg) with the 1943 kit, it looks like there'll also be changes in the radars, rangefinders, and funnel platforms.

Same with 1/700. The Dragon is good, but can be pricey and hard to find.
If you want to make the Dragon 1/700 Arizona even more pricey, scrap the kit down to it's second deck level and toss all the armaments - now you have basically the hull. Buy a wooden deck; replace all superstructure and main armaments with Model Monkey grey resin (higher definition printing) components; replace all secondary and tertiary armaments with 3DModelParts; replace all boats with PetrOs Modellbau (Shapeways) selections; use Eduard PE set; some minor tweaking of details. Or...wait until Flyhawk releases a 1/700 Arizona!
:wave_1:[/quote]

I mean there is probably an opportunity for a ca 100 dollar or below upgrade for Dragon Arizona, but I think Flyhawk will be out with their offering. 4 years ago I only dreamt of having Gneisenau proper, and now it comes. I think spending few hundred bucks and kitbashing Arizona which will still lack PE, i mean just give up on this. No way it is worth the time. I did this stupid thing with buying up a ton of 3D printed stuff for Tamiya KGV conversion. Still sitting there. Too much hassle.

TAIHO :woo_hoo:

Must have.

I'm still waiting for 1/350 Cleveland DX version, Des Moines DX is on she's way.

VeryFire is the leader now. They have more interesting and detailed kits than Trumpeter.
Japanese producers haven't come up with anything new since Hasegawa's Junyo in 1/350 scale

Good luck VeryFire

Yep I look forward to Very Fire's new releases. Not saying that I will buy everything they make (a 1/350 guy myself), but a lot of it for sure. My Des Moines DX is also on the way from Hobbeasy. I wonder if they will do a Newport News, say Vietnam era? An easy buy for me for sure.

Good to know that the Taiho is still on the way, another must have when its released.

Now just waiting on the Cleveland DX version.....

Flyhawk just announced a new ship, I am not sure what it is but seems like a modern Chinese-navy ship.
