This question is about the catwalks on the 01 level? Are the catwalks covered by wood like the decks or are they metal? Thanks for your answers Hank45

Gotta a couple of quick questions on the Toms Modelworks PE set for the AZ.

I'm building the Banner 1/350 kit and wanted to dress it up, so I manned up and got the PE set above, having never done PE before (ever journey begins with a single step). I'm a fairly experienced amateur builder (build mainly armor and NASCAR) and so far I've put the railings on the forward superstructure with few problems. I've started on the turret catapult and have a question on attaching the side catwalk to the cat....basically, what is the best way to attach it (besides superglue, I understand that...) and more importantly, where to attach it.

I've checked the internet and found Charles Landrums' online build to be real helpful, but want to see if I can get some advice on this parts placement.

I appreciate the help.

OK, I'm a dumba**. Figured it out. For those that may one day have a similar question (since the directions aren't real clear) it attaches along the bottom where there is a small slot built into the latticework.

I'm new to the site. I did a search and found out. The search lights used for anti aircraft batteries had a Rhodium plated parabolic mirror inside that reflected a carbon arc discharge. I think this might be the same for the searchlights used on the battleships. I hope this helps you out.

I have one question. Where are the saluting guns located on the Arizona. I remember seeing an overhead picture of saluting gun but can not remember were I saw it.

Just looked thru Paul Stillwell's Battleship Arizona an Illustrated History on page 160 there is a photo of the twin barreled saluting battery it looks like it is on the 04 level forward of the searchlights on the stack. On page 209 there is another picture looking down at the saluting battery and a 5"25 AA gun but from this view you cannot tell what level it is on.

On page 41, the Banner/Trumpeter/Minihobby Arizona is BACK under the HobbyBoss label!
I checked their site, and it is showing as available now.

So here�s a easy one for you experts. I would like to model Arizona in something lighter colored than the dark grey/blue that seem how she was looking in 41. To do her in some pre-war scheme, how much would be needed to change? What about the turret tops? I like when there�s at least something colorful.

I was planning on using a combination of Eduard and WEM etch, L�Arsenal 5"/38s, WEM 5"/51 and whatever turned barrels I can find for the main artillery. Anything more that is essential?
