OK, this will be the last entry in this thread; as the pix show, USS Wolverine is no longer on the slipway.
Pix below are of her on Inverleith Pond, Edinburgh earlier this afternoon in an uncharacteristicly still and very sunny day (the flight deck warped a little in the 25 degrees sun!). :cool_1:

Table top shots at home after scrubbing the algal gunk off her (and Akitsushima), the downside of sunshine!

Still not finished, Harvards don't have any airscrews yet and she's short some boats and liferafts but the end is in sight. :woo_hoo:

I am NEVER building a d**n paddle steamer ever EVER again!!

Looks really Great Doog, superb work, so you are not going to build the Sable then?
I loved my time in Rosyth and Inverkeithing and especially the trips into Edinburgh. Enjoy the weather and water and good sailing.

Nope, no Sable and I'll donate my other paddler plans to some other masochists in our club!

Nice job on placing. I'm actually building this kit aswell but it's the midway. For an old kit it has some pretty nice details and leaves a lot of room for upgrades.

Thanks Guys,

Sirpaul, i love this Midway kit, I have worked it for a Desert Storm Midway, Op El Dorado Canyon 1988 USS Coral Sea and i have 90% finished FDR in her 1971/72 era fit, also have a Vietnam era Midway on the slipway, that is more or less an Out the Box build, mainly replacing the aircraft.

If you like cutting plastic this is a good kid and it scales out nearer 1/700 than 1/800

I hope we get to see some of your build

Here is my kit that "claims" to be Lexington being converted into Intrepid. It's going to be a "long hull" CV-11!

Welcome Aboard. looks like you are off to a good start on both, what years will both be built as portraying? what scale are they?

I am looking forward to seeing your progress.

Nautilus does flight decks for those kits. They have one for Intrepid. I was thinking about doing that myself. Finding good looking aircraft is the difficult part.

Good Luck,

They will be fine when gtb has taken the molding stubs off and cleaned them up, a great addition to the Oriskany gtb,
what year of the Vietnam war are you going to depict her in?

I actually think these were given to gtb from leftovers he had made for himself, ISW do not list the SH-2, S-2F or the E-1B.
ISW have always been great with me, any problems with a part has been rectified swiftly.
