The first bunch of IJN Nagato had those barrels, it seems that the restock of Hobby Search is a second bunch and the barrels was only for the first wave of release.
Anyway the kit barrels, are EXCELLENT and dont really need replacement.
Awesome casting and quality.

If scale is not an issue, the IJN Nagato in 1/500 from Fujimi is at the moment the definitely best IJN Nagato out in the market

Fujimi released a separate set in 1/500 of Nakajima E8N for IJN Nagato class. Of course they can be used for other ships as well, link:

Anyone can post a picture of IJN Nagato or IJN Mutsu with turned back funnel and double 12,7 cm AA guns ? All I can find is with the old single AA guns, before the installation of the new double 12,7 cm AA guns.
By the way, the promotional picture from Aoshima, got a wrong time table picture of IJN Nagato.
Anyway, thanks in advance.

Thank you !
I wanted to find a picture of that period only cause those rangefinders on number 2# and 3# sems strange to me. Number 1# and 4# turret on the new Aoshima models is the old style small rangefinders, while number 2# and 3# has the new big ones. Its seems by the picture you provided that is correct.
While when IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu had their old single AA 12 cm they had in all turrets the small style rangefinders, even when they had the turned back funnel modification.
Thanks again.

By the way, the Fujimi's IJN Nagato in 1/500 with a complete set of PE in 1/500 will be re-released again(mid December) so be ready to reserve it as it will be again limited release.

And the same successful formula like the IJN Hiei deluxe version in 1/700 with a complete set of PE is also for the 1/700 IJN Mutsu and IJN Nagato on its way. Arround February 2012, and like the IJN Hei deluxe version is limited release, so hurry up !

An e-mail from Fujimi:
"The F-6 part is not for use in the IJN Mutsu model, unfortunately the part is not shadowed, in the part list".
So to avoid misunderstandings, I post that here, and Im sorry that is a bit late as the IJN Mutsu came in june of 2011 in market, but since the extra part is not labeled to be used in any stage of the instructions, I assume noone got a "bad expirience" with it, is only not shadowed as a non useable part in the parts list.
