Hi all,
I tried to find the dimension of the AK-130 gun, but could not find anything. There is no Wikipedia page (which is where I normally find dimensions) for this gun either...

Any helps will be appreciated.

By the way, just a stupid question, but I am still wondering how the overall length of the gun is measured. Does it include all the protruding equipment details, or just the gun structure itself plus the barrel only?

Has someone seen photos of the Chinese Sovremenny after the modernisation with Chinese weapons? I found only photos made at the start of the modernisation of Hangzhou (showing the removal of a many weapons and sensors).

Good morning, all.

I have the Trumpeter Upgrade Set no.06605 for the Admiral Chabanenko 1/350 model. There are seven barriers or railings in the set with posts that are bent at an angle. The segments are numbered 1,5,6,9,10,11, and 13. The illustration shows how to fold the posts, but doesn't tell you where they attach to the ship.
Any ideas?

Aren't they right next to the stanchion fold diagram? Looks like they got lazy with showing each individual section and are expecting you to measure/cut/merge as necessary for those straight runs on the main deck: http://www.modelwarships.com/reviews/pe ... eview.html

New question, please:

If the ship has the blue and white color scheme on its helicopters, what flag matches that era?
There are three choices in the kit I have, Trumpeter's Admiral Chabanenko.

And which are the choices? For sure it would be a Russian flag, not a Soviet.

1. All white, with a large blue X across the whole surface. The points of the X originate in each corner of the flag and meet in the center.

2. Red with white stripes forming a rectangular "Union Jack" type of background across the whole surface. A blue X is overlaid on top of this design. The X is identical to the one described in (1) above.

3. All white background with a blue horizontal stripe/border across the bottom. In the middle of the white area there is a red star and a red hammer & sickle.

Hi, it's me again...

This time I'm wondering about those helicopters and hangars....
On Trumpeter's 1/350 model of the Admiral Chabanenko, the helicopter fuselages are too long to fit into the hangar bays. Plus, with the rotor blades atop, they are taller than the height of the sliding hatches. Photos I have seen on line show most of the helicopter inside, but with the tails sticking out. The same photo(s) show the rotor blades and hubs up above the level of the hangar bays' ceiling.

So,
1. Does the forward wall of the hangar bay open up to allow the nose of the helicopter to enter it? This would allow the whole length of the helo to fit inside.
2. Are the rotor blades and hubs removeable so as to allow them to fit underneath the sliding hatches of the hangars?
3. Are the helicopters in the kit overscale?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

The hangar roofs are retractable, and the deck inside is an elevator that traverses on an angle, bringing the helo to a lower level and forward, enabling the roofs to retract back into place - see the drawings and photos on this page: https://navy-korabel.livejournal.com/28693.html

Hi all, I'm back with another question...

Trumpeter's 1/350 Admiral Chabanenko kit includes six parts numbered H28 which sit in front of the big missile tubes. There are three for each side of the ship, they attach to the main deck, and look like a sphere sitting on top of an inverted cone. None of the photos I have found of the actual ship show these.

Kit parts H29 sit similarly on the same deck, in approximately the same mounting pattern, forward of the H28's. I have seen these H29's in photos, but not the H28's.

Any ideas?

I have the first photo, and after looking at it a hundred times (!), I had decided that all of those protuberances were pretty much the same. The only difference I can see is that some have flat tops and some have an almost pointed tip coming out of the flat top.

I was thinking that they might be spindles that could accept ropes, etc. used to pull missiles in and out of those tubes. So you and I are on the same page there.

On the model kit there are three mounting holes where the rear posts are in this photo, and that is where these spheres atop the cones are supposed to be installed. Your photo shows two spindles in place where my sphere-topped cones would go.


Your second photo shows a series of posts in about the same position that my spheres and cones would be. The posts in your photo are all connected with a frame. I haven't seen that device before, so thanks for digging it out and posting it.


Thanks also for including those photos of the helicopter in the hangar. Shows how the floor was depressed to allow the top of the helicopter to fit under the roof.


At the moment I am leaning towards omitting the cones with the spheres on top. I may just put round scale plates in the deck where the kit's mounting holes are. This would be compatible with the idea that the posts were temporary and when not in use a plate was used to cover up its mounting hole. But I've got plenty of time to decide. So I think I will leave that area alone for awhile.
