This will be the last LHD for a while for me. My plan was to create as many of the Atlantic Fleet (from the 80 till now)as I can. So the LHD3 is currently the last one on the list. I started working with the amphibious ships, but start doing some cruisers and destroyers. Most of the rest of the amphibious ships are resins to be completed they take a bit longer to acquire.

If I may suggest, to you, changing the background area of your photographs or using a different light source. They are coming out too, yellow, aren't they? Sean Hert told me that the background color can affect the auto exposure feature(s) of my digital camera. (He hates my blue sky backgrounds for some reason. Hi, Sean! ) I think he suggested that gray is the best color for a background and I find that fluorescent or natural sun light are best for me. Are you using incondescent lighting?

A photographer I am not. Thank you for the pointers. I take pictures sitting at my desk in my 6x8 cell in the garage. So the light is not as great.I do have on ott light which is real nice to work with but a bithard to photograph with. I like the background idea. I used to have a blueish color roll somewhere, but the kids might of borrowed it. I will play arounf with the LHD3.

As for the windows on the gig. I used a pigment pen (0.05), that is how I also do the cockpit windows on any planes/helos as well. I takes me a while to do with a lot of redos.

I need to figure out how to place a hyperlink in the signature field on the board. I started uploading images to photobucket of all the ships created so far and would like to share them.

Just post the URL to your album in the box that asks for your signature

I was trying to get this ready for a show in Atlanta tomorrow but failed, the ship in the background got priority.

its VEEERY NICE to see ships of the PN here other than what i had previously built- been away from the hobby due to severe work constraints-carry on !

hiope tou can do more justice to the PS 38 as to what i had did to it- check out my work in timawa - as noted too buzy for the hobby lately hence my scarcity.

Hello Simon, Actually not a whif, its the FGS Lutjens. Your whifs are looking great and very interesting as usual

A plastic one would be great in 1/350, a bigger Lutjens

Nick the water is made from Acrylic window/bathroom sealant, nice and easy to work with.

John the other ship is the Academy 1/200 Charles W Morgan, New Bedford Whaler

Jepot, many thanks! I have been admiring your entire fleet on timawa I think the PS 38 is the exact right ship that I should be working on. I'm trying to avoid anything with helicopters or other small crafts

Quick update on the Mariano Alvarez. Since the first batch of Cyclone class ships have the unique stern ramp for the RHIBs, I decided to open it.

Excellent work Heiko it seems that i could learn a lot from you about scratchbuilding ships.

Thanks guys. I'm hooked on smaller crafts now because you can get results in almost no time - a welcome change after spending almost a year on the Bataan.

Keep it going Heiko, i am loving these builds, you certainly cram just as much detail into these small craft .

Hi guys,

here is now the finished ship in the full diorama. It's named either "Pagharang - Interception" or "Mabuhay! - Welcome to the Philippines (just don't come uninvited)

It is a fictional scenario in which a South Korean vessel has entered Philippine waters and is stopped by the Mariano Alvarez. The UH-1 will render support while the Alvarez is sending a few troops on the RHIB.

The ROK vessel is a Chamsuri Patrol ship. I chose it because it fit perfectly (size-wise) on the Pegasus hull that I still had laying around - one less hull to build. The rest is scratchbuild. Here now a few impressions of the dio.
