Christian, quite in agreement with you,not need to "explode" his wallet ,with the half price of the "super PE plank that goes well" I'm equip with the evergreen enough to "tinker" 2 to 3 ship
but it is obvious that the PE is essential for certain things (railing, radars,etc etc)

"openings 5 ??on the starboard side and 7 on the front" hey well all wrong !.... at least ,mainly on the front face, the exact number is 6, error that I corrected immediately:-)

With which tools are you making all these correct additions and replacements in platicsheet?
I mean, they look awesone, no doubts, but also 105% correct and clean made. Do you have any plans about or how do you make it?

2)
I see here (again?) that you replace the aft turrets with resin items, why?
Are the turrets in kit full of errors or have any other problems why you do?

3)
I saw at a friend that there exists a blue-grey coloured replacement deck in aftermarket, was this deck used later?

yes, I have plans of various origins, the plan of AAMM essential (Associations des Amis du Mus�e de la Marine) the monographie of Robert Dumas (very very essential),the french battleships of J.Jordan and R.dumas ,origins plans from SHM (Service Historique de la Marine ) profile morskie N� 26 of Maciej S.sobanskie ,and private photographs gleaned here and there,and others origins........

for the blue deck , it is valid for the camouflaged version of 1943 (US measure 32)

Hi Nicolas,
It's always a pleasure to follow your work. I have a chopper almost the same as yours. The chopper makes cutting gussets and anything you need multiples of the same length an easy task.

on the platforms of waterproof boxes for ammunition were present. all three types are present, (they will duplicated in resin)

as I see there are only few items of the original kit remaining in your modell. An amazing and stunnig work how you build up your Richelieu. Following your thread is always insipiring and encouraging staying with this "surgery" modelling, including heavy scratchbuilding.

an air vent in the oblique portion of the chimney,has been forgotten by Trumpy!on my first mounting,I did not make a copy in resin,
this time around I make a (for a 3 richelieu ??? )

for the version after 43 the chimney and the superstructures ,have this aspect





but for the 1940 version a litlles differences exist,in particular,this block under the platform



the block in place whith the new platfom and thebeginning modifications blocks aerators



giving a different appearance (more conform)to the whole

Hi le bosco,there are two pics,the first one is from jean bart,and i especially observe her basal part of chimney which seems like pyramidal and more oval like contour. the second one is my sketch about the elusive part under the platform,which i suppose it to be a standard cylinder with two wing like yardarms and aisles between them?The info about the cylinder structure are scarce, but I surmise it from 1935 the original plan of "serive historique".Thanks for your suggestions

Jim my richelieu is not completly finished,I still to ask the "draft marks " on the hull , this is my friend Big Bear(Bruno Gire )!which the make me and print for me!!!!as soon as it is finished,I place it, in the right place

Hi all

to reply to Sirmaumau ,in my last post ,the configuration under the platform,corresponds to the Year 41 (may), indeed,under the platform in 1940 (upon arrival to Dakar) the Richelieu is not completly finished ,especially the chimney



the "round" corresponds to the base of the rangefinder armored
the poses of yardarms and of D.E.M antennas (Detection Electro Magn�tique) (green arrows)allows me us to date the progress of finishing under the platform (may 41)



if not, for the base of the chimney, on my first Richelieu ,I did not make the correction,but ,on this one,I adjusted and profiled the thick plastic card on the front face (and rear face)





"the dressing" in place with putty



the front and rear aftet the "treatment"







the effect without being of more consistent with the reality,is pleasant to the eye

Christian ,to the next platform,promised, I detail how to make the bulkheads (if I understand your question )
