It's been 2.5 months since the last actual update. Just a little fishing.

Hello Hallis,

As stated in one of your previous posts.... yes we definitely have quite a bit on our plate right now as far as what all we have announced. However.... they are all slowly but surely making their way to market. The design work is almost complete on this ship, and as soon as it goes into production I will share all of the 3D renders and photos of the design here for you to see. I don't know exactly how much longer that will be.... but I will post any updated information here as soon as I can.

We are keeping the design very "close-to-the-chest" until the production is under-way which is why we can't show the full design yet.... BUT.... here is at least a little teaser for you....

I can say the lower hull IS in the design if you were able to see that whole render

The good thing about Big T is that she's still around. So like the Iowa class I have some pretty high expectations of this kit given that not much needs to be speculated on since we've got the real deal to reference.

Honestly i'm just glad that BB-35 (and BB-34 NY) are getting some love now from a few manufacturers again. And moreover in Plastic. My personal thanks to the FreeTime crew and the Blue Ridge Modelworks crews for developing this kit and bringing it to market. (also Trumpeter for their 1/350) She may not have had as impressive a career as many of her battleship sisters but we here in Texas still love her very dearly.

I wonder how close the 1944 New York was in configuration to the Texas as she was in 1944. I know they wore the exact same paint scheme. (as shown in that above pic). I also know that texas went through a refit in either late 44 or early 45, (would have to consult the books). Wonder how viable it would be to use the 44 new york kit to depict the 44 texas.

As to fit, Breyer's Battleships & Battle Cruisers states that only Texas had AA on B turret from 1943 on.
Both masts had detail differences between the two ships (drawings in the book).
AA fit forward changed in 1945, but apparently at about the same time for both.

I think so, Harold. Texas wore the Measure 31a-8b scheme until 1945 when she was changed to the Measure 21.

I think the shipcamoflage.com site is incorrect. I looked at the Warship Pictorial and Squadron at Sea books and found representations of the following for Texas. (these aren't the dates that she was actually painted but was wearing the scheme during these dates). I've seen several other references as well that confirm this.

Late 1941 - Standard Navy Grey
Nov 1942 - Measure 12
Mar 1943 - Measure 22
Nov 1944 - Measure 31a-8b
Feb 1945 - Measure 21

I wonder how substantial the differences to the mast were. Seems like I may be able to take the B turret from the Texas kit and drop it onto the NY kit would be a close enough representation of Texas in 1944. Mostly looking to have it in my favorite scheme, 31a-8b, and not have as much AA as she did in 45. I have zero scratchbuilding skills.
