I have added most of the bits and bobs to the hull. The catwalks and gun platforms still need to be done. I am starting on the degaussing cable next. Not much to show that is noticeable enough to post pics of though.
For part M10 (there are several of them) they do not have a connection point on the kit. So you are stuck eyeballing it. Same with the flood lights for the flight deck. Rather annoying. The support beams for the front section of the flightdeck have two minor issues: First, the locator pins are too big for the foc'sle deck guide holes. Drill them out a skosh. Second, there is nothing to indicate proper orientation. You will need to match it with the flight deck and kind of eyeball it.

Thanks guys.
I have begun the rather long process of removing the wood section of the flight deck. Due to the flimsy aspect of the deck, I dare not use a dremel so I am doing it by hand with files. This will be several hours in process. I will likely intersperse some other construction elements to this..

If that hole were placed a bit differently you'd have
a good start for this!
Good progress - mine's all been digital this week.

I thought about making some smart reference to that, but could not come up with anything decent
Starting to sand down the rest of the planking now. Once I have that done I will fit a piece of sheet styrene to match the hole. That is what the wood deck will eventually attach to.

Okay insane work travel is over. I had about 15 total days home in the last 2 1/2 months.
Some work has been done on the deck. First attempt on the styrene was scrapped. Second attempt already showing much better progress. I am hoping to get some photos of this before the end of the weekend to show everyone.

The styrene inserts are done. They match the wood deck pieces exactly. Next I will be making sure they fit in the actual deck.

Looking good!
Though some of the pics aren't coming through on my work computer, so I'll check at home re: your deck question.
Cheers!

Thanks guys.
The deck pieces have been fit. Now it is a matter of securing them.

Based on what I can see, what about some sort of grid or lengths of plastic underneath to serve as a base?

Wow. I had never envisioned going this particular route to achieve a better flight deck. Using finer V-groove sheet, yes. Cutting out the old planking, no. I am VERY impressed.
