Cheers guys!
I had a bit of a mishap while masking the decks. The upper decks primer came off with the tape. I guess first time for everything, guess there was some oil on the PE or something. It left a bit of a mark but I don't really bother too much, the deck is gonna recieve weathering so I don't think anyone can even notice it.

Painting work continues on the lower hull!
First I applied a lot of salt with water. I'd use my hairspray stuff but couldn't find it so salt had to it!
After that heavily diluted radome color was sprayed. After that cleaned with a cloth.
Next step was to spray dark yellow (heavily diluted aswell) to the center of the lower hull.
And lastly dark brown for the middle part.
And then some washes and filters to follow!

And some more weathering.
Just first some neutral gray to filter. Light black wash for details, then some dirt streaking and finally some slimey sludge at the waterline.
And the real thing

Most excellent in the post!!!
I have since gotten a 1/350 scale National Security Cutter. How can I make the same type of helo deck as the one that is shown here?

Oh hi, finally got to working on this again!
Well, here's where we sit at the moment!
Ok here's a quick rundown as what has happened after last time!
First off the rest of the hull and superstructure were weathered. Continuing with a light black wash around the details then some filters with various greys and white.
Then some light drybrushing with greys. The deck got a black wash aswell, but after the flat coat it recieved pigments. First some light grey then couple of shades of brown.
Looked after some reference photos to get me going. Also the decals were put before the flat coat but the dry transfers after that.
To save me some time and effort I cut all the bottom runs of the railings so I don't have to waste time hiding them. The wires were painted dark grey.
Also various details were hand painted. For example the lights first got their tip painted black to make them look like their hollow. Then that black tip was painted with a yellow clear to make it look more like a bulb.
Now it's mostly just building all the little details and adding them to the ship as the biggest parts are already done. Not making any promises but I got a good momentum going on so hoping to actually getting this finished.
Even though I had the model resting in a cabinet for 6 month ish still tend to get some dust in all the wrong places
Well gotta try to clean some if I can and looking at some of the high res photos there seems to be quite a few one!

Hey carr!
Good points!
All I can say is mostly all my new projects always incorporate some new techniques or a different way to brining my models just a bit closer to real looking.
It's an on going process because well, it's a bit of try and error stuff as I don't practice on it any other time than when building the actual ship so to speak.
So maybe in a few years it's getting even closer but by every new build I try to take it one step closer. Also the fact that not so many ship builders that actually log their progress do
heavy weathering or build full hull instead keeping theirs more traditional clean builds. So the material for "learning" is limited more to what you can see in real life and then figuring out how you could do it scale models.
Because most of the time adding elaborate weathering isn't as easy as thinking oh well I just paint it looking like this!

And some more!
Finished the port side boat deck. Straight from the pontos set though I did add some piping and other details on the belly side.
Funnel finished and some various boxes and MK38 launchers too!
The flight deck recieved cables for the safety nets from stretched sprue and the flight deck lights (black boxes) and the flight control box.

My "studio" was out of order for the weekend. Only bad thing was that I was making a lot of progress so no photos.
Here's where we stand at the moment. A lot of stuff finished and more details scratched and replaced!
