Other; something 1890-1920 time period.

A WWI battlecruiser looks like it would be quite popular...I suspect an HMS Dreadnought in 1/350 plastic would be a seller, too.

New 1/350 offerings

Post by M J Maynard »

All the wish list vessels are OK but how about something different. I suggest the USS GLACIER, navy Icebreaker from the 1950's. It carried a lot of weapons(5 inch, 3 inch, 40mm guns) as well as helicopters. It served in the USCG for 20 years and can be re-configured in that guise.
Or one or the POLAR class icebreakers. Another IOWA or YAMATO or HOOD and I'm going back to building Ed "Big Daddy" Roth monster cars :lol_3: Merry Christmas!

I voted for the angle-decked Essex, but I'd also like to see:

USS Long Beach CGN
Big 5 Battleship rebuilt (Tennessee -Maryland)
Big 5 Battleship Pearl Harbor (Tennessee -Maryland) Specifically USS Nevada (BB-36)
US CVE Escort Carrier
USS Midway (modernized)

I'd like to see the Baltimore class done, square and round stern, as well as the Missile conversions.
I'd like to see the Cleveland class done, as well as the Missile conversions.

And of course, I really, really, really want a Salem/Des Moines class cruiser. Newport New could also be done from the same mold with some changes to radar and the superstructure.

Battleship Texas (BB 35) in late WW II fit. The real ship is on public display, and plans are available, so an accurate kit of what is arguably the most historic surviving US Navy warship should be an easy task.

I would like the re-built us ships but what about these:

Vittorio Venetos italian battleship- I have the resin roma by axis but way to dear for most people
IJN ISE japanese battleship as rebuilt as an a/c battleship
HMS Renown

CGN-9, my first ship.
Nothing really captures and entire period of design philosophy like her. Soon her hull will be scrapped, and there will only be photographs left...

Next, Warspite should be there as it seems most other important Battleships have been made.

Three way tie for third:
Modernized Midway - would be a fantastic study in this scale
Prince Eugen - simply one of the best looking ships ever built
Rebuilt big 5. (BB-48, I hope) Again, a fanstatic study in this scale.

The top two are immediate buys for me.

Learn something new about the ship or your job every day. Ignorance is not bliss aboard a warship in wartime. Ignorance could cost the life of yourself, a shipmate, or the loss of the ship.

-BB-35 USS Texas, with parts for different configurations.

-A Guppy, again with parts to make a few different versions

-And how could I forget...The Nautilus, the Seawolf or a Skate class boat.

-Hamilton Class Cutter, the most beautiful ship afloat, after the QE2 (before her funnel got fat).
