Yes another two great IJN builds Lars. :thumbs_up_1: I have a few questions on the flyhawk photoetch as well. I have the Fuso and the flyhawk PE in the stash. First, was anything left out of the set? It is so big It looks like it has everything except railing. Next, is it easy to work with and did it fit properly, were there hard sections?

If only I couldve traded all those things I didnt use for railings.. it couldve saved me the trouble of buying extra ones. I bought Yamashiros set first and then Fusos, I finished up the railings on Yamashiro with some of the Fusos set then I had to buy Toms generic railings to finish up Fuso this is the only setback I see on the entire set, the small amount of railings. I used some things from these very same P.E sets on my newly finished Kongo. Some leftovers which I couldnt find any use for them on the models were davits, catapult and boat cradles, swinging booms, some ladders too, anchors, jacktaff (I like to scratchbuild these ones) it keeps going and most of them I know what are they used for however there was something and do check the picture, #25 what in the world are those things? I could only guess these have to do with the rigging and if they do I still dont know how to use them.
what are those?
what are those?

Dont forget my Fuso is the resin one from HIGH-MOLD and this makes it incompatible up to some extent though, I had to scratchbuild one of Fusos levels and fill up a couple of gaps with putty on the bottom level but it can most likely be used on this resin kit, now, if you have the new Aoshima kit I dont see you going over the same problems I had, this set was solely designed for this kit.

Hi Jose,

those things are the pivots for the davits, maybe for the davids for the 9 m cutters. Both ends have to be bended by approximately 90 (depending on the inclination of the hull at this position.

An example can be seen on the page
http://www.flyhawkmodel.com/en/product. ... e=fh350002
on photo-2. Just above the quadruple torpedo tubes you can see one davit in such a pivot.

By the way: Your sisters are really breathtaking ! A very good job.
(To avoid misunderstandings: With sisters I mean Fuso and Yamashiro).

Cheers, Dirk

Excellent work Jose. I have Fuso and Yamashiro to build in 1/700 and I dare say that I will get nooooo way near your level of excellence.

Kudos.
