I`m really motoring now!All the 4" gun mountings have been attached ,I particularly liked the Triple mountings,Trumpy have done a good job on them.I think ,also they have done a good job on the Aircraft/boat cranes.I was dreading folding these ,but each one only took a few minutes work, and as they are quite robust, they held their shape well. From the photos I`ve looked at ,these cranes were painted a darker gray than the rest of the ship,as were the search-lights.
Next up are the big guns,I might use some brass 15" barrels ,again left-over from my Hood build,I`ll see if they are compatible.

Phil,
A couple of questions -
How did you find using the kit-supplied PE railings?
Are there enough included in the kit to go round?
Finally, where did you get those (resin?) circular shaped gun houses from?
Renown had that type fitted IIRC.
Good work
Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave,
I have no complaints about the PE that comes with the kit,of course,it doesn`t have the finesse that WEM or GMM have, but, for me it was very easy to use.Whether there`s enough to do the whole ship,I`ll have to wait and see.The 4" turrets came a from an ISW Queen Elizabeth kit,but I had to alter them .
I`ve put together the 15" gun turrets,`X`turret needed to have the 20mm tubs removed, and the resultant holes filled in with Milliput.I decide not to use the Brass barrels,as I think the kit parts are a good representation of the 15inchers.

The 15" turrets have been painted, and all they need now is detailing, and the Neutrality patrol bands on "B" turret.I`ve add the upper decks on the bridge tower, and I`m just waiting for the spotting top to set, then I`ll add the AA director. The decals for the SNP stripes are RAF 72nd fin flashes from Xtradecal,I`ve had these for years,so never throw anything away!Unlike RAF fin flashes the blue is the leading colour.
Getting there

The basic model is now virually complete. All(All?) that remains to do is the rigging, and Deckrailings, not forgetting the Awning staunchions, and a general re-touching.When fully completed ,I`ll have a photo-shoot with the posh camera, and put the results on "Completed Models",and oh ,before I forget,Repulse didn`t carry any aircraft in 1938,thank goodness,I won`t have to scratch-build a Blackburn Shark now, didn`t fancy doing those "W" shaped struts!
Bye for Now Phil
