Hi Werner,
actually these two models show the same ship in her early and late configuration. Sorry not the one you've listed. I can give you one clue though....
there was a plastic model of this ship by Life-Like company...

Hey Darius, if you feel so inclined could you drop me a line at
whitet@blarg.net? I've got some questions I'd like to ask.

No... didn't see it. Would there be a name I could look for in my junk or deleted items in case you got filtered out?

Tracy,
I've send you another one with the header "From Darius" just like the first one. Let me know whether you got it.

Of course, I draw using AutoCad 2007.

I've been using AutoCAD since 1990 (forget the release number), all of it 2D for architects/structural engineers. Now, I'm into facilities management, so it's AutoCAD and databases...
Suffice it to say, I'm in awe when I see 3D models. I'm due the latest AutoCAD release within the next couple months; maybe I can play with some 3D then....

Structural steel engineer..... If I had the money, I'd be using Tekla.
I use Kadkey 5.0 and just switched to Solidworks 07 at work. Great thing I like Solidworks for is the Autocad/DWG interface. I have been using Autocad since about 1988.
Turbocad and Raydream Designer at home because its was free

Certified on 2000 back in '01. Spent the last 5 years working in an office that's still using R14. I've done 1 ship (HMS Malta 1945) and I'm working on a couple of others. The updated Malta is on Stefano's website. I like AutoCAD, but it's a bit clumsy for doing 3-D work.

You should try 2007. A major 3D improvement.

i use photoshop to scan in plans, illustrator to scale and redraw splines and scanned PE parts, and 3ds max 9 to build models.
may start on a 3d sms emden as i have 1/200 plans, access to the gunther-huff book and the 1/350 model.

I use DesignCad 3D Max as a residential designer. I've drawn everything from instructions, to box art, photo etch design, illustrations for the instructions. Great program and very versatile. I only know enough 3D to be dangerous with it.

Thanks for the kind words Tracy. The Winslow will be my next Flagship Models release. Just finished up the photo etch sheet and its as big as the model! The illustrations above were done for the instruction sheets and box art (which will be color). If anyone owns a Lone Star Winslow, you might consider getting this one to replace it. The new Winslow model will put it to shame.

What's MSRP going to be? I never bought any of the Lonestar kits, but I am a fans of TBs, TBDs, and DDs
