No, no. There will be no crew. I am not able to build such detailed models. I have not even the patience for this - and also not the skills.

Here some progress with the rig of the bowsprit and the shrouds. These are Saemann tztechnik's shrouds/ratlines.

First the original part:

You see that it is not perfect at the top and much too big. Therefore I cut it to fit:

Here they are fixed to the Grasshopper:

The rig has still many imperfections.

I have added the rest of the shrouds (ratlines) and the back stays:

The back stays are made of 0,1 mm thick copper wire, which were this time easy to fix (in stricking contrast to the stays).

Amazing Job Maxim! I love it when you update this build!

Maxim, she looks gorgeous. Sorry, but I can't supply you with photo's of the Euralyus right now: my digicam has given up functioning. Let me say this: your guns look better then mine. Problem is that the skytrex range were made as wargaming units, not accurate models, so there is some degree of simplification and it being metal makes modification a tad difficult.

@ MichelB: do you think, that it is difficult to make a good model using the Skytrax kit? What do you think about the etched ratlines, which are contained in the kit?

Here a new photo showing the yards (not painted yet) and the not optimal upper ratlines:

It's not difficult, depending on how much you want/need to modify.

The hull: Reasonable detailed, a tad less than a good resin cast. Looks decent. Can't comment on exact replication of details. Metal, so will require mechanized tools to modify.
The masts and yards: Masts are cast inregral deck to tip. Looks decent, may be a tad thick. Yards are definatly thicker than scale, should be replaces by (tapered) brass rod.
The PE ratlines: Decent. A generic set for all skytrex ships. Stiff material, not as easily workable as others PE material.
The PE Sails: Same thing. Not sure if its a generic set or not. Same stiff material, so its difficult to recreate any realism in the sails.
Hope this helps, I'm building this out of the box, as a scale reference.

The hull takes a lot of time. Therefore I am thinking about buying some of the Skytrax frigates. If the rig is not superb than it is the same as with scratch building - but it is not necessary to buy ratlines.

Here some progress with the Grasshopper. I painted the yards black. I added some new parts of the rigging of the bowsprit and the bumkim:

It's an amazing piece of work, Maxim. I'm sure you can work miracles on Skytrex hulls too! :thumbs_up_1:

I will only add the anchors and the gaff sail boom. Then I have only to correct the painting. Afterwards she will be finished.

what about a flag?

and your decision to murder the crew disturbs me... maybe you could just get some little pieces of pencil lead, break them in very small pieces, and paint them like 1 stripe blue, 1 white, and 1 skin color..... haha.
