OK back to camo. I got that book "S-boote E-boats in Action 1939-1945"

This one S-150 has that camo with the blue splotches. On pg. 144-45 it is a drawing not a picture though. If you don't have that book I highly recommend it.

Reid,

I don't have the data in front of me, but SOMEONE who is more of an expert on the Schnellboote told me that there are numerous factual data errors in that book ...

props for s-100

Post by wildspear »

I was wondering if some one could point me in the right drection for props to go on my S-100. The ones in the kit seem a bit off and I had thought there was an aftermarket company that mades props for the revell kit (1/72). Let me know if you know.

I still can't find an aftermarket supplier of props for the S-100 so would anyone have a nice drawing of the props and I can give a scratch build a try.

Maybe we could call this thread "Calling all German coastal force Fans"? This would give us a chance to expand this thread and keep it alive. :thumbs_up_1:

That sounds good to me. S-boats are great but fairly well covered now. My interest lately is more with the "unknown" coastals like the hafenschutzflottille boats and the weird conglomeration of ships used in the Mediterranean for minesweeping and escorts.

I think once Italeri releases their S-100, this thread will come alive again. Am curious who here will be buying this kit once its released & how many will convert to RC.

Even though I have the TJ kit, I plan to get the Italeri kit to make masters to replace the cannon on the existing kit. Even if I bought the kit just for these parts, it would be cheaper than going the DreamArts route.

Mr. Guido Hopp passed through here last week while on business & recommended I build my existing TJ kit as an earlier S26 or 38 which I'm giving serious consideration. With a mid-series boat in tiger stripe camo & a late skullcap, it should make for an interesting fleet to chase the Elco around.

Hi guys

I'm responsible for updating the S130 site - thanks to Chuck for letting me know about this thread. If you guys are agreeable I will post news of updates here so that you know when something new happens. I have added seven video clips taken from the recent dive on the three S-Boats off Denmark.

Start saving your pennies! I saw this on Modelshipwrights today:

Product Update 1/35 Italeri S100 Schnellboot

Sunday, October 12, 2008 - 07:08 AM BST

By SEAN FORD

As a follow on to the earlier news report of Kenny Loup on the 8th of February 2008 in regard to the Italeri release of its 1/35 Schnellboot S 100 German WW II Torpedo Boat . It has been announced that this kit is going to include over 450 plastic parts, 22 clear parts, two different diameters of rope and over 90 photo-etch parts. It will even come with a screwdriver to assist in assembly.

Check out that box art image its certainly dynamic and cannot fail to get the heartbeat racing.

The most exciting news is that it is now a reasonable assumption that the release of this kit is now very imminent as the Great Models Webstore have now announced that they are accepting pre-orders. The suggested retail price has been announced as US$249.95 however pre-orders are now being accepted at the Great Models website at a price of US $175.00

The full details of this set is outlined below:

Schnellboot S 100 German WW II Torpedo Boat
Manufacturer : Italeri
Scale : 1/35
Series : Kitset
Release Date : Pending pre-orders being accepted
Suggested Retail Price : US$249.95
Item code : ITA5603

Alas, I understand these screws are long out of production.
I would be THRILLED to be wrong about this, but a quick check of some of the big retailers seems to confirm they are OOP.

I was intrested in Building one of the 1/35 Schnellboot kits, and would like to build S65 commanded by Horst Schuur as it seems to have a great history it was commission on 16.06.1942.

I have found a Photo which states its the s-65 with a Scull cap bridge, face on... and the time of the build would suggest that this is of the 38 Class of boat... has anyome anymore information on how i could be certain... ive read a few books, but am still left with doubts

Hello,

Does the skull cap appear different in your photo of S65 compared Their is a photo in an early post in the thread where the skull cap appears flatter than the later purpose built models.

I was reading that there were experimental armored bridges and some unarmored bridges as in all plexiglass.

Do any photos exist of these various bridges models both armored and otherwise?
