Here's my workbench after a proper rebuild:

Place for the model under construction (and also for displaying this model, don't have room for her to be placed anywhere else...).

Board with the most important tools.
Some other much used tools are stowed in bins under the board, but on the desk, as those didn't have any proper attachment and the board was getting full.

Electric equipment is stowed as close to the wall socket as possible.

As you can see this is my winter quarters in a spare bedroom with heating and computer for company.
Working on me Mikasa at the mo.

My main workshop is in the garage will show pictures soon, have me spraying and soldering plus kit stash there.

Well, I don't have any pics of workshop yet, since I'm setting up a new workshop, had to add area for my son, who is now very much into building warships now, and is getting better all the time. I had to take a year off from building, and moved during that time, sooooooooo much of my fleet is heading to drydock, and a few where not salvageable. It was heart breaking to lose so many 350 scale ships. All ships going to drydock are 700-720 scale, stash is a bit low, but still plenty to build. Just wish me luck as I teach my son more and more

As promised this is my main work benches.





This is me main working area.


There are two work places as me wife likes to dabble also but in jewlery.
Sometimes one of our group come's and gets some work done as he cannot do modeling at home.

I do have plenty of ships in 1/350 to build,at least seven last count.

Due to my daughter and grandson moving in with me, soon, I've moved my hobby room from an upstairs bedroom down to the family room. This room is split in two; one half is my business office and the other is the model room.

Six guys form the IPMS Chapter came over, last weekend, and moved all of the large furniture, for me. Great guys!

Carl, did you have to repaint your old modeling room? You put so much work into it.

I'll leave the nautical paint job, in the old model room, the way that it is. My grandson won't mind........this'll be his bedroom, now.

Carl how old is your Grandson? hopefully we will see You and your Grandson bringing home awards.

Carl, I hope you don't mind, but if I renovate my "War Room" again, or move, I am stealing your waterline/draft marks idea for the walls. And if you do mind, well, you can have my place in the pre-order line for the USS Bunion.

Carl, love your work room. The wall treatments, as my C-in-C would say, are just great. I wish I could talk her into letting me do mine like that. Unfortunately, I'm under threat of death, or worse, to not "mess up the wallpaper". But, I can't complain. I just got my own room for my modeling projects, a spare bedroom on our second floor. It is now my "man cave". I used to have to work at the end of the upstairs hall on a temporary basis. Now I can have more room and not have to clear the decks when company comes calling overnight. I'll try to post some pictures.

I just want to know how you keep yours so neat and orderly. Mine looks like a styrene bomb went off in it with tweezers and assorted tool shrapnel!

Hello everyone, greeting from new york, I don't have working bench per say. I just have my trusty Tamiya work station and Muji stackable bins...

I took it out my cabinet when I want to build, and put the whole thing away when I am done. My Ex trained me well

Fabulous view you have there. I love NYC... I was there a few weeks ago. When you live in Soham, a little village in Cambridgeshire in the UK, New York just feels brilliant. Been there loads of times and have always felt at home there. Met Martin a few weeks ago for a beer.

Empire State Building right out your window?... And the Chrysler Building off to the right...? Wow...

You must be looking due north, somewhere off 5th Avenue. 20th Street? 23rd? Whatever... Fantastic view!!!!

Edit: Ah... looking again when I posted this, you must be further south than I thought...

Congratulations on your new, private work area, Bob.

Pics of both my old room (with the draft markigns) and new room are during the initial setting up of the workbench after the move. I have since trashed the work surface, again, with busy modeling work.

I have updated my workbench and work area. I took my formal office and made it in to my modeling room with the blessing from my wife!
