Well, I finally got my new space set up. Unfortunately, I don't own the space, so I can't put up shelves, though. It is a little bit staged, normally only one machine can be worked at a time. (and it's still clean).

Since we built our house in 2005, I have my own office, about 2/3 of which is dedicated to my hobbies.

Finally have enough space to comfortably work on these big ships. How do you like my dedicated PE work stand. Makes life warm and fuzzy.

Well, I had to close down my seperate workshop, but I did manage to fit in most of it back in my home. It looks a lot better than my old 2009 set up, though the workbench in the garage still looks much the same (just more stuff build-up)

Here is my workshop area. My workshop is down in the basement so I can be out of everyone's way when I work. I keep my spare parts bins under the desk.

I think I posted some pictures of my workshop nook in another thread a while ago. Recently I have been playing around a bit with animated GIFs and created this animated panorama of my study, of which the workshop forms one part:

I'm a new member..today. Looked over various workshops. Makes me feel that maybe I'm not as alone as I thought. I'm in much smaller
quarters now than I have ever been. I commandeered my departed wife's "Hoosier" as my main modeling station. The Hoosier has cabinets,
drawers, doors on the bottom and, best of all has a porclin top which slides in and out about 10 inches. Sorry I don't know how to post
pictures but I'll get some soon (somehow) I'm a scratch builder and stick pretty much to older great lakes steam boats and lake freighters. I'm fininshing up the Edmund Fitzgerald which I stuck with the plan scale. It's about 50" long and very hard to handle and will take some
special attention to display.

I sm excited about discovering the "Forum"

Welcome aboard, George.
Yes, the Internet is the great enabler for our hobby, we can display our creations to more than the few friends who we convinced we weren't "looney" or model clubs who wonder why we are building long thin things instead of cars, robots, or wingie-things.

Hope to see your work, I'm sort of a scratchbuilder myself, but on the other end of the spectrum, mostly in the 3" - 7" range. I've found tinypic.com an easy use for posting pictures if you have digital pictures, just upload following their directions and they're pretty durable on the web site, with no membership obligations.

I think I am going to be very happy in here, has a good feeling about it.

I've shown you my work space before but, I've done some decorating since.

Finally, after years of working off the carpet floor, I finally have a desk and chair!!!

QUESTION for my fellow builders, does your shop or build room seem to find its way to being the "catch all" for the C-n-C's stuff? I went to my shop to do some building and I found it to be full of stuff from the house Now tomarrow I have to go out there and clean it out and put stuff where it should be just so I can get back to my builds. Now, when we moved here and decided that I would build in the shop and use a seperate area for storage I felt the C-n-C understood that was "MY domaine", but as the holidays approached and things needed to be moved, my son was told to put it in there. Now am I wrong for feeling violated in this arrangement?
I'm also planning to rework my drydock, and set it up better then the way it is now. Then C-n-C is going to see all the storage space I will incorprate into my new layout and want to or decide to use it.

JT nice bench there, yes more lighting is needed, you can do something like I did, I went to the local hardware store and bought some lighting that mounted under neath the cabnets it really adds alot of light.

Negative sir. Shop trespassers are dealt with swiftly 'round here. I think the sign I have hanging in my shop does the trick.
