Hi Jeff:

Neat set up, right out of page 59. This is certainly coming along nicely.

From the photos it is hard to realize how tiny these figures are! Thanks again for the photos of Admiral Issac Kidd, I don't think I had ever seen a photo of him before.

Cheers: T

More crew members added to the front row and a camera man is now in place. I'll call this scene done.
Image

I was able to get a slightly clearer view of the port side gun tub and director platform.
Image

Couple of things jumped out at me. First, I love the laundry line running from the boat deck to the motion picture booth.
Seems like there was always laundry hanging somewhere on these ships. I just had to include one on my kit.
Image

The second thing that jumped out at me was that black box on the side of the gun tub. To me, it looks like a speaker but I'm not sure yet. It doesn't seem to be sticking out at all like a speaker would.
The next thing I want to research is the projector screen and where it was stowed when not in use.

I think this is by far the best 1/200 Arizona build I have ever seen!!!! Bravo!!! Love those little crewmen and the camera man. You used Model Monkey's 3D printed bridge as well, right? Didn't see you mentioned that...
Keep up the good work!!
:woo_hoo: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1: :cool_1:

Regards,
Aop.

It looks like an apertue/opening into the tub. The angle of the sun is casting few shadows, yet it's dark, plus something in the middle....

Thanks Aop! The bridge is what came with the kit. The only 3-D printed thing on the kit are the anchor chains.

Dan, that would definitely be a strange place for an access panel given the fact that the entire rear was open but it's just as possible as my speaker theory.

I agree, it would be an odd place for an opening. After some more study, now I'm thinking it's a blackboard.

I think you are on to something there Dan. It could be a blackboard.

One blackboard added to my tub.

Also, I added the traction pads inside the tub.

To quote the puffer fish in the movie "Finding Nemo" after he and all his friends finally escaped the fish tank and made it to the Ocean he said:

"NOW WHAT?"

Simply outstanding Jeff: A long time a brewing and a fine craft it is. I know exactly what you mean by the "now what?" After all that work and all that time. Thanks for the great posts and posting your references too. It certainly inspired me and I know others.

Thanks

Jeff! Beautiful work! I bet you'll smile every time you look at it on the shelf. I really appreciate all your help as well. Your research on this great ship was outstanding. With all the Arizonas that have been built and soon finished, I believe we should have a separate section for it. It would be a great study for any viewers..
