FOR WHAT ITS WORTH I HAVE THE ORIGINAL MODEL OF THE KIROV THAT SET ON IT DURING WW2 , NOT A POST WAR MODEL . THE SHIP ITSELF IS HERE IN MY HOME NOW AND I AM THINKING ABOUT SELLING IT. IT IS ABOUT 2 METERS LONG AND MADE OF WOOD & STEEL. A VERY NICE AND RARE PIECE.

I have a Trumpeter Kirov in the loft that I was thinking of starting, and then I found this thread. Absolutely amazing skills and phenomenal research - this is a thread I will be referring to whenever I get around to building mine, although I have no expectations of approaching this level of skill or correctness.

Just a 1/700 version - I've got a few more things to work on before tackling that "beast" and all the modifications it warrants!

Of my current/upcoming projects? For the first half of the year I'd been building a Flower class corvette. Current project is the Ting Yuen, and next up would be USS Lansdowne 1/700 in Tokyo Bay, and after that is probably the Chinese cruiser Chih Yuen, unless I can persuade my department to pay me to build the new 1/200 Bismarck... ;)

Well, I haven't started it yet :heh: I try to keep to one project at a time, and Kirov's big enough that I can't bring it with me around the country when I change locations between summer and school year. I did put a few photos of the kit in the CASF thread, though it's just a Modellist reboxing of the Trumpeter/Pit-Road kit.

Any new progress on your model mate?
I've finally made a sort of start on my 1/72 Frunze.
Working on the guts of the ship before I start putting the deck on.
Also working on the Admiral Kuznetsov and Steregushchy-class corvette in the same shot.
