Interested to find out what has happened to the very fire
KGV, Renown and importantly Vanguard. These were announced I think in 2019??

The COVID-19 pandemic has delayed the development of these products.

You can already have Vanguard from 3D Wild / Chuanyu.
For Renown it is available in 3D print at alphahobby.uk on ebay
Both have very fine quality.

If I am correct, the 3D printed Renown is very late war/postwar fit. Plus the research behind many of these 3D printed products coming out of China is suspect, as they are often based on World of Warships virtual renders. No thanks.

Also, I am not sure we know how durable the 3D printed materials will be. We know polystyrene plastic can last many decades, if not longer. I worry sometimes about the durability of the 3D resin. Remember lead disease? Cast lead model components often disintegrate after a few decades. I'm not sure we can be certain about the stability of the resins used in 3D printing yet. Another reason to stick with polystyrene kits whenever possible. Why worry about that when we'll all be dead in the long run? Well, that's a personal matter, LOL!

Anyhow, just a thought. If anyone knows better, please speak up.

I must admit that at 69, I do not care to much about the duration of 3D resin kits !! I do not intend to get the whole stuff in my tomb like Tutankhamon

About plastic, I fully agree and would add that building a 3D kit is often less interesting than a plastic kit, except if there are photoetch parts (but not too many, otherwise they are too small ...). However, I feel tired to wait for plastic kits which never receive birth : for instance Nelson 1/350, which is on the Trumpeter list of promises since 10 years at least, now on the Dragon list since nearly 1 year... Vanguard might once be delivered by Very Fire, or might never be. Who knows ? I have learnt to be like Saint Thomas and trust only what I see.
So I jumped over the moat for some kits like Vanguard, Renown, Courbet, Paris, Bretagne, Lorraine, Andrea Doria, and now some French WWII cruisers which will never be released in plastic. French producers are not even interested in delivering new French ships like "Horizon" or FREMM destroyers. To get the last French frigate, Ronarc'h, I had to order it from a Greek company because the Greeks have purchased the same ships from French shipyards Pffff !

So, I will continue like this, and must say that contrary to some people, I am not interested in one additional Yamato more. I have the old Tamiya Yamato since more than 20 years, and will keep it, being satisfied with it .

Hobbyeasy has listed two new injected plastic 1/350 scale kits of the Type 42 RN DDGs Sheffield and Coventry for preorder by a company called Foreart. I have several Foreart 1/72 scale armor kits, and they are very detailed and well done. This will be their first ship kits, however. I`m currently building the Foreart( formly Forehobby ) kit of a 72nd s38 S-boat,and the quality is top notch.Very well thought out kit and a pleasure to build.so,I`m looking forward to getting their Type 42s,hopefully they will be up to that standard.

To avoid confusion, this is Type 35, not T35 (which was a Type 39 destroyer-sized "boat" with two funnels and double the crew and range).

I wonder if Flyhawk will release an "S" version of the Type 35 torpedo boat as in with railings and other PE detail. The usually make on regular version and one S version but I can only se the regular version.

Huh, Trumpeter is doing an open bridge USS Montana.

In the world where World Of Warships is introducing a whole new demographic to ships and clearly the "Paper" ships are very popular, Trumpeter is trying to continue a cash in on by producing these never-weres but yet deviating greatly from the design that we see in WOW. I am a big fan of the Montana class and have several mental designs to show how they may have actually come to be, but I will stick with my Yankee Modeleworks and Very Fire kits as a base and unfortunately pass on this one, just doesn't feel right. You can argue things such as 20 and 40mm placement, small boat placement, but the core design should be there and this was another Trumpeter(does C-Team exist?) attempt to knock something out quick and probably utilize their Iowa sprues.

Triumph Models World-of-Warships 1/700 IJN Heavy Cruiser Zao

It is an IJN �Paper CA� where they imagine the Pacific War lasting longer due to the Failure of the USMC to Take Guadalcanal until 1944, resulting in the IJN completing Operational Air Bases sufficiently that the �Southern Resource Areas� could be adequately protected, and Island Hopping be far less successful.

They base the longer war on Wargames done since the 1960s from the US Naval War College and Allied Naval War Colleges, showing different means by which the Japanese might have seen a Negotiated Settlement rather than Two Atomic Bombs ending the war, and upon plans the IJN had proposed for their fleet that were less focused upon the BB as the Primary Surface Combatant, with that role being given to the CA and Heavier DDs.

But the �Zao� is strange in that while it does look very �IJN,� its name seems more Chinese than Japanese.

The kit isn�t Plastic, so probably needs to be mentioned in the �Resin/3D Printed Thread� but is relevant for the �Paper Ships� comment.

Also I do not see mentioned the Fujimi Full-Hull 1/700 1942 Kuma and 1944 Tama:
