Its only a guess yes they were present for the entire length of the catwalks, as there is no clear pictures that support that.

I accidentally ordered a wood deck for the Aoshima 1/700 Nagato. I have the Fujimi full hull version and it seems to dry fit decently.

I may have to trim the edges a bit, but that's about it. Any advice on other ways I can mitigate the fit and NOT have to buy another wood deck?

Does any aftre market manufacturer offer 1/350 PE enhancements for Nagato's pagoda mast?

The bulwurks and shutter screen on Hasagawa's pagoda is rife with opportunities for improvement.

1/192 Nagato on the Way!!

Post by Matt Gill »

After a year building, my most recent addition - a 1/192 Nagato is finally on her way from Tehnoart. For those that might be interested, here is a link to their site with pictures of the just finished model.

http://www.tehnoart.eu/ijn-nagato.html

She's going to be a great addition - head to head with Missouri.

Hi Matt

It took them a whole year to build it?? thats crazy man i take it you probably ended on a waiting list too? I must say their work looks very neat. Try taking some pictures of your model when you receive it and if you can take some shots of your 1920's Nagato too i vaguely remember that one..

An image of post-war Nagato posted on reddit by user n0t_my_thr0waway of his/her grandpa: http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8208/8278 ... 7e67_k.jpg

Shows well the shape of the mainmast AA platform, in case there's any mystery surrounding it.

I must say with the way fujimi is I'm surprised there isn't a late war IJN Nagato 1944 but I know one can be easily made with the fujimi early war kit and a lion roar late war photo etch set

New details about IJN Nagato and IJN Mutsu(also for IJN Ise class) came up in this forum:
http://warships1discussionboards.yuku.c ... SP9LGcRrLQ
This of course is more for historical reason and not for modeling but worth a reading. Truly IJN Nagato class after her modernization was perhaps the best protected pre-treaty battleship.

I my self I love IJN Nagato and IJN Ise class and I believed I had a great knowledge about those two classes, but all those is new, hope you will enjoy it !

LF information on Nagato's equipment at Leyte / Oct. 1944

Post by RichardAigner »

in particular number and placement of 150mm and 25mm guns, boats, planes, radars.
I am building Aoshima's 1/700 kit. Available references are:
Drawings of IJN Vessels
Breyer's "Battleships and Battlecruisers 1905-1970"
a foto in Breyer's "Grosskampfschiffe..."
and a sketch in the 1/700 Water Line Guide Book
Naturally, they do not agree. I would be grateful if you could point out additional references.

Hello Nagato fans,
Nagato and Mutsu were Rengo Kantai flagships in turns, so I've got a question about these: Do you know the detailed dates of changes this function? Do you know about any tables? Especially I'm interested in years 1936-37 because I'm planning to build a dio showing the scene of assuming command of Combined Fleet by viceadmiral Yonai and I don't know which ship I should present there. That event was on the 1.12.1936.
Thanks in advance.
I hope that my english is understandable :)

Anyone know when the experimental anti-torpedo net was removed after 6 Dec 1941?
Second question is there any photographs or information about this net installed at that time?

Thanks

Presume people have seen this, but if not, superb color film of Nagato, somewhat fire damaged, later in 1945.

Definitive 1944 rigging.

Post by ph levels »

Is there such a thing as a definitive guide to Nagato's rigging in 1944? I notice a number of subtle variations throughout bthe models in the gallery, and in the other various sources, whilst if you look at the two pictures of her i Brunei just before Leyte Gulf you can't see any rigging at all. Has anyone got any information?
