I second what has been put much more aptly than I could put in words. I am shocked by this news.

WEM has been a modeling cornerstone over the last decade since I got into ship modeling. The thing hat helped me most is their excellent PE which I used in virtually any of my builds, and my Airfix ships would be nothing without WEM PE.

I do hope there will be some continuation of the WEM line of products, and I wish everyone at WEM all the best for their futures.

Best regards

Sad news indeed... :cry_3: :cry_3: I must say that Dave and Caroline were the first in the hobby to introduce L'Arsenal kits and accessories in their catalogue as dealers. I will be always grateful for this as WEM was a symbol of quality, and to be distributed by them opened many doors to my small business.
As years passed, they became not only dealers but more important : friends !
So, all my warmest wishes for better winds and seas to the staff of White Ensign Models, and many sincere thanks for what you have done for the hobby during all these years !
Warmest regards from a rainy Normandy,

I'd like to think of it as a sign of WEM's quality products and service to see that just about everything on the website is out of stock. I was looking last night in plans to purchase today but everything that was on the list in a wide range of scales is now gone.

Sorry to see the WEM and their Blackbird go, hopefully the White Ensign folks will still be around the forums.

Really sad. WEM, as far as I can think back, was always there. Like HMS Hood, and then ... out of a sudden ...

Many thanks to all involved with WEM, many thanks for all the years providing such fine stuff!

All the best for your future plans ~ Olaf!

I bought my first PE set from WEM in 1995-- way before internet et al...
Dave, Caroline and John and the team have always been helpful , efficient and knowledgeable..

true gentlemen modelshipping dealers -- who will be sorely missed.
running a small business in the UK these days is a tricky tightrope walk at the best of times....

So WEM has my most sincere sympathies from me !! -- it could happen to any of us.

I wish them all well for the future...

....I buy them at three times the speed I build 'em.... will I live long enough to empty my stash...?

Oh, this is shocking news, I've been an occasional customer for a number of years now, and always saw WEM as the top ship modelling stockist, including enjoying a number of their own products. Sad news - is there any hope of a re-launched smaller niche internet business some time in the future?

Sad. My first ever order of a resin kit (LC Birmingham). By a
paper advert (remember adverts?) in Plastic Ship Modeler (remember Plastic Ship Modeler?). That re-started me in the hobby back in 1996. I was even on the Aquitania pre-order list. Last order went in three weeks ago. I'm really sorry to see them go and I truly hope someone will rescue their vast accessory range (PE but also 1/700 aircraft and small parts).

The checkout cart is now closed due to the high volume of orders, and I cannot place that one last order. Hopefully it will come back up later today.

I can't help think that if people (myself included) had ordered like this earlier, maybe this would not have happen. Regardless, best wishes to White Ensign!
