That is indeed a crazy method Gabriel. I am sure it will yield excellent results,
Can't wait to see more updates! Specially that flight deck.

How did you manage to file everything down without bending or warping the perimeter of the flight deck?

Thanks for the interest and comment guys.
Dan, to answer your question, admittedly I ran into a bit of an issue at the week connection areas on the forward corners. The deck broke there but it was done in such a clean fashion that reattchment was easy and clean. I used a dremel to get the majority of the middle out on the lowest speed I could the rest I did with a 100 then 320 grit sanding stick to bring it in more.

Good progress Gabriel!
Cutting out that deck must have been a lot of work, but is probably the only way to get a replacement deck to fit completely flush.
Cheers,

Here is the latest updates. The deck is still a work in progress. I am currently fitting the inserts in and gluing just a bit at a time to ensure it is in correctly and allowing it to cure fully. While that is occurring in the background I have started work on some more sub assemblies.

- one of the port side gun galleries

- different angle

- Straight on

- And yet more PE underneath. If you look at the top of this picture you can see the flight deck sitting in the background with some of the work that has been done.
I have started working on the two port 12.7cm gun platforms as well.
As always thanks for looking.

Great job so far. Which brand of antenna masts did you use?

I am using the Fujimi PE, deck, and dry transfers for everything except some accessories and guns which will be Veteran. The Fujimi stuff is actually made by KA.
Note for Dan: the antenna masts are a bit finicky. Suggestion for you is this; you have to cut the kit part down and use it as a attachment point for the brass antenna and gear. The brass will not fit through the deck hole. Place the kit part in first. Then the antenna on it. Align it to the position and glue it in place. Then add the gear piece.

Looking great!
You'll be pleased to know I have completed about 12 of the 20mm guns for the Missouri.
Hey, it's progress!
Really like the side gallery.

Nice and crisp etchwork mate, and no sign of glue, that's always impressive!
