Alright, I had to feed my inner geek back in January, and I bought myself the beautiful Fine Molds TIE Interceptor. It arrived earlier this week, and needless to say, I was on it like white on rice. I didn't really start the kit until I had the colour scheme sketched out - a buddy of mine showed me the 181st Squadron's TIE Interceptor markings, with the red bands on the wings, and I thought I'd do something to some of the details to give it more colour - I had plans for the solar panels, and didn't want to cover over the paint plan, so I did the outer wing frames, and the front framing. I started with the dark blue, and that looked a little flat to me, so I did the inner framing in light blue and drybrushed it over the outer frames before I set the panels in, to give it a more multidimensional and irregular look. Then I added some metal to spark it up a little bit more. The stand isn't a clear metal, as I basecoated it with a Dark Bluegrey, and only one coat of Gunmetal, so the bluegrey shows through in a sort of algae-metal colouring, which looks cool to me. The weapons config is my personal favourite, the multirole desigh with four Lasers and two Ions in the eyeball mounts. Enough talking - Pics!

Absolutely beautiful! Is this a kit? Does it have wood for fuselage? How did you achieve that 'wood-lacquered surfase'? Did you provide a build-up photo report somewhere? I see a lot of riddles guessing how this or that was done.

no, the wingnut wings kit does�nt come along with wood parts.
It�s all grey styrene and hand painted.

Just finished this today. I wanted to build another model, but wanted something I could do just straight OOB, and I remembered this kit in my stash. 1980 Chevrolet Stepside pickup, 1/2ton, 4x4, with Scottsdale trim package. I found the license plate on the internet, resized it and printed it off on just some normal paper and cut it out. Im pleased with the results of this build, took two days to complete.

How about giving the fence and the wall some snow effects as well?
Great composing, well aranged.
Just in focus, nothing leads off the scenery.
Thats a good approach to something telling us a story.

How about some pigments at the wheels?
Postshading could maybe bring some more effect to plain details.
Like the license-plate. Its decal?

Thanks M�LDERS, I did go back after the photo was taken and add some additional snow to the fence and the wall. I've not any other pics though as I sold it on eBay a few weeks ago.

Good snow is not that easy to make...

I spent less time making shop models for a while, and spent six months on this Starblazers Earth Defence Force Flagship Andromeda. It is in 1/700 scale, so I make use of 1/700 ship photoetch on this spaceship. Note I added rigging & railing etc.

HI ALL this is what i did a year an a half for a break from model ships the wet navy type anyway
an its the polar lights USS ENTERPRISE in 1/350 scale lit up with about 70 LED's
the model as its built

an with a bit of computer trickery
USS ENTERPRISE in orbit around a red gaint star

over an alein planet's surface

here she's comin out of a pink nebula cloud

now back to wet type ships

Here's a space ship model I completed recently. It's a project I started many years ago based on a series of novels by Michael McCollum. The Discovery is described as a destroyer and is heavily armed but its initial mission is reconnaissance to discover what has happened to the rest of the human race after the colony on Alta had been isolated for more than a century by the star Antares going supernova (which disrupted the "jump" lines used for FTL travel).

I'm glad to see that you guys have a small section of this site for models other then ship. Cause I've got nothing in ships...yet. But, I do have some aviation stuff.

1st is my F-4 that I did a good while back...


2nd is my A-10 that I just finished. It's an Arctic Hawg that I made into what-if...

Hello all, this is what I like doing when not building ships. 1/48 Scratchbuilt except for engine, prop and wheels. It was my first scratchbuild. I know you all know what it is, so I won't tell you it is an A.D. Scout (Sparrow).









It was one of the less successful designs for the Royal Naval Air Service in WW1. I would not want to climb up into it or try to taxi it over rough ground!
