Ahhhh... thats what you mentioned above, as you said "leveling it with styrene"
THATS the way you deal with those issues. Great idea and worth the work.
Capstains and all the other details looks really cool. Very well done!
PS: I ve seen your Kongo at steelnavy. Congratulations! Very inspiring and full of nice detail!
Very very very well done!

Can't thank you enough for your kind comments guys, thank you very much.
The clipper vents are pretty well done i had to cut them though even when i bought the medium size mushroom vents. out of a total of 24 vents ,they don't come in 8 pieces like is stated on HLJ's website but 12 which is good. i lost one and believe me that's an average amount

not easy dealing with such small pieces. some pics of the progress..

Thanks again fellows!! you da man Gilbert

Molders you might want to go over all three types of vents i think both big and medium sizes look about the same what really changes is the lenght of them and if that is the case i'd say go for the medium size, even though you'll have to cut and grind them no matter what at the end..

Were does one buy the real wood decks for 1:700 IJN ships? Can you post a link? I might have to try one for my Fuso.

Another sunday dosage

main deck is pretty much done all i got to do is add all the railings and start with the painting but this is something i had to postponed for lack of materials. i didn't waste my weekend though i started working on the aft superstructure. Mast is going to look great once i've finished adding all those LR P.E goodies. stay tuned..

Hey Jose,
i like a lot what you ve built! Looks great! Especialy the improvements at the window section are very effective.
For the supports and similar items, i have found out that the aluminium of fast-food-packages is a good choice.
Its thin, cheap, stabile enough, easy to cut/bend and pretty much in scale.
Just give it a try somehere if you like. I think you will find it useful.
Very nice progress, jose! Looks very good!

thanks Molders !! that is a terrific idea in using those disposable trays

those gussets are inaccurate as matter of fact , on my 3D book the gussets had rows of holes i cheated here

most of the time i want to add all the details i see but some of them are simply impossible to accomplish and i give up. It's funny because some years ago i wasn't like this i didn't even think about painting with an accurate color the more you get into all these the more precise you get and i have to remind me not all can be done..
