Hey Sebastian the ultimatum writer!

Option (1) would seem the obvious choice--

BUT...

We know you are very good with metal etc...

I think Option (2) is the one that would interest most readers of modelwarships.com and l'arsenal!

So.. my vote is cast!

Option 2

Nonononono: I'll throw in a vote for #1. I'd like to see the metalwork so that I might learn something ;)

Modelling is done on inspiration, so pick the option that inspires you the most at the moment. Whatever you choose, I'll learn a lot!

Choice 2 for me please. :)
When you try to fit superstructures to the deck I think you will have to rebuild&repaint some pieces of deck again - Dragon has made a few errors and omissions in this area...

I have not remained completely inactive for the duration of this vote, I started the rear structure of the USS Buchanan.
It's not over:

Now, for Tunisien. It takes three things to build the superstructure:

Evergreen profiles, the sheet of copper and a good documentation.
I begin the work tonight, so the next update is expected soon.

P.S. : I forgot to post this message on August 24, sorry !

Hello all
So, I started the rear of the superstructure of Tunisien.
First, I scratchbuild the structure by cutting in profile of Evergreen the floor and ceiling.
DSCN0836.JPG
Then I glued sections of 5mm between the two in order to obtain the desired height.
DSCN0839.JPG
DSCN0840.JPG
Then, I cut the bridge in the sheet copper.
DSCN0841.JPG
It is necessary that the bridge fits perfectly with the structure.
DSCN0842.JPG
Then I started dressing in sheet copper. I must scratchbuild several parts for the final part.

Exhibit 1 is the starboards form.

Exhibit 2 is all forms of port and starboard. They are taped to get the right length.

Exhibit 3 is the template for cutting the following pieces.

Exhibit 4 is the test that I used for cutting air vents, portholes and for testing the rivets.

Exhibit 5 is the final piece

Finally the final part in place but not glued.
To be continued...

Hello everyone
I must confess that I could not work on my models for 6 months.
However, this did not remain at a standstill. I had planned to run a number of brass parts.
I started with the "oil vents." On Tunisien, I found three types.

To 1 / 350, they are pieces of very fine, so I asked Piotr Czerkasow society "Master" to turn these pieces. It has very kindly agreed.

His work is incredible.

So I set up.

Then I sent him a project even crazier: the grenades of 300lbs and 600lbs in 1/350.
As he could not turn them into a 1 part, he turned into 3 parts!

The grenades of 660lbs

The grenades of 300lbs
Sebastien-grenades 002.jpg
Grenades assembled but not glued.

And glued.

200 grenades of each to assemble.
If you are interested in these parts, contact Piotr.
He is great guy. :thumbs_up_1:

hello EJ and Jim
If only Jim ...
In nine years, unfortunately, I have made very little progress. No finished model.
I will take as much time as EJ to finish a model !!!

If I relaunch this post, it is also to force me to continue my models. Finish them, we'll see ...

And take care of yourself. :wave_1:
