Does black resin have a particular physical property compared to grey ?
Or is it just a matter of choice ?

Good question. Same properties; both are photosensitive acrylate resin. Choose whichever color you prefer.mister me wrote:...Does black resin have a particular physical property compared to grey ?

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
In anticipation of Trumpeter's release of the C-class light cruiser HMS Calcutta in 1/350 scale, nameplates for all five ships of the Carlisle sub-class have been added to the catalog.
C-class light cruisers began service in 1914. The last survivor, HMS Caroline, was decommissioned in 2011, after an amazing 97 years of service. Her hull inspected and repaired by Harland and Wolff, she has been preserved as a museum ship at Alexandra Dock in the "Titanic Quarter" in Belfast, Northern Ireland since July 1st, 2017.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Recent 1/600 scale printings include Brooklyn class 6"/47 cal. turrets, 5"/38 Mk.28 mounts, and HACS Mk.V directors.
To make nameplates we design available in various real metals, we offer them from Shapeways. Due to Covid 19-related supply disruption, Shapeways has temporarily suspended printing in real metals. But nameplates are still available in paintable, inexpensive acrylic plastic.
We can also print nameplates in gray resin in our own workshop, if you prefer.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Hey Steve, what are the chances of seeing your fighting tops in 1/700? I've had no luck contacting 3DModelParts and they've been out of stock for a long time. Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Model Monkey Catalog
Happy to announce an island for USS Intrepid CVS-11 as it appeared from 1966-1967 in 1/350 scale has been added to the catalog. This island is intended as a replacement for the Gallery kit's island. USS Intrepid's island was in this configuration during operations off Vietnam with Carrier Air Wing 10 (CVW 10) embarked, tailcode "AK". The 3D-printed island has a more accurate shape than the Gallery kit's island and features open bridge and PriFly window framing and integrated venturi.
New nameplates include all modern Royal Navy Trafalgar-class submarines and several WWII-era T-class submarines. Nameplates are also available for all four T-class submarines in Royal Netherlands Navy service.

Steve, I was wrong about the scale of the Sopwith Camel and Dr.1- they are 1/16 scale. Would love a couple of Vickers.

Thanks, Walt!
Good news, Vickers are in the queue and research for them is complete. It will be a while before I can get to them. The queue is very full.
In other news, nameplates for all Derfflinger class battlecruisers have been added to the catalog, with names in Fette deutsche Shrift font for a traditional look.
