Thanks for the post! Delivery of the Indiana to the city of Indianapolis will be around July 12th of this year. Interestingly, that is the reunion of the Indianapolis (CA-35) survivors. We are trying to work out something where some of the veteran crew members who served aboard the Indiana could be there about that time so I could dedicate the replica to them, and they could talk shop with the Indianapolis fellows. What conversations woud be heard! I'm looking forward to that!

Good to know. I think I'll be there in late July this year for my yearly summer visit. I'll make sure to get up there (I'm originally from an hour south of Indy) and check them out.

Great build!
By the way, July 12th is on a Monday. Do you have any other information on the reunion and presentation? I'm about 4 hours away and think this would be a great weekend to travel over to Indiana.
Wish I could find some ship people closer to central Illinois.
Thanks again.

Well, I hate to see a grown man grovel, especially when the grown man is me... but I will if I have to. More pictures, please? Lots more??? :heh: :wave_1:

I am only a little over an hour from the museum in Indianapolis. It wouldn't be any problem for me, travel or timewise, to make it to the dedication ceremony. Will it be open to the public?

I Think Indiana will be delivered around July 10th or thereabouts. When I get a firm schedule on things I'll post it here then. For, now I have no concrete plans. Things are in the works, with the Indiana veterans, and the Indianapolis survivors, and the War Memorial Museum. There is alot of co-ordinating going on. It would be great if some of you that are close could indeed come and check things out! I'll make sure I keep things updated here................Stay Tuned..............More photos coming! :wave_1: :thumbs_up_1: :thumbs_up_1:

Well, I decided to try to take some better photos of the Indiana, which is still in the workshop. Up to now, there has been alot of "backround noise", if you will. Tools, plans, stuff laying about all over the place. So, I got out the trusty white sheets to try to focus things on the ship, rather than the shop. I am by no means a pro photographer.....I wish I was. Plus, at seven feet long, it's a bit difficult to get the whole ship in camera range without things being too small to really view. I hope to get a pro over here before I deliver the ship to take some really good shots. Those guys got everything, but it's expensive. I'm running out of money on this project. I'm getting close to the $3,000 figure. I still have to add all the 20 and 40mm guns, lifeboats, aircraft, a couple more radars, railings, some deck fittings and rigging. So there is lot's to be done yet. I am getting closer. Without further ramblings by me......Here goes...Hope you enjoy.............

Bill, your work is pretty cool! The precision is something I strive to accomplish. She's a real beauty. The colors, the precision, it's all great. One of the many things I would like to know is, how much does it weigh?
