Nektarios, my diorama won't be that easy as what you describe. In fact mine is based on reality (like Carl's I suppose). I'm depicting the "Resurrection" of the Russian Fleet. Back in 2004, Kuznetsov went to sea with her battlegroup for the first time. The group consisted of the Admiral Ushakov (Sovremenny class), Ustinov (Slava class), Petr Veliky (Kirov class), Kuznetsov herself, Sergei Osipov (Chilikin class Replenisher), Altay (Pamir class Ocean Going Rescue Tug) and SB-406 (Sliva class Ocean Going Rescue Tug).

For now, the Veliky is more or less finished except that it lost its decals. The Ustinov is nearly finished too (for both of them I have the possibility of adding some PE which I have here anyway). I also have the Kuznetsov around somewhere, although I'll have to remove the faulty paint from her. The Sliva project was now finished, so I still have to start the Chilikin (which I'm doing at this moment) and the Altay (which I will start onboard). Altay is an even bigger tugboat than Sliva, they're actually 92m long!
Of course it will take a long time and I can't just fully build them onboard (can't make any detailing since I have to fly home). Possibly I'll take other plans with me to build several hulls onboard, that'll save some time and allow me to finish several builds in short time when I get home. Well that's the big plan of course, hope something comes out of it.

Modeling isn't so lonely anymore with everyone on the Internet and web sites like ModelWarships.com and all of their online sponsors.

I think that the thrill of scale modeling is the realism which is contributed to by the detail, accuracy, and precision of the model kits, after market parts, and everyone's own imagination and skill levels.

I don't remember it being so much fun and satisfying as it is this time around.

Carl my my knowledge in English language is too poor to express my admiration for your Diorama. Keep up the good work

WOW i ve seen this battlegroup on several videos and the least i can say os that it was really impressive. I would like to see this diorama finished.

Its a metal kit from a company that produces metal kits in 1/700 and 1/1200. I have their address somewhere i ll post it later when i find it.

The new DDG is much bigger than the Burkes and its a little bigger than Ticonderoga class.

How much assembly is involved with the metal kit? Is it mostly painting? Any PE, etc?

The prices aren't listed on the web page. Can you tell us how much in USD the kit costs?

This kit was a gift from a friend but i think the cost is around 50-60 $.

NO Assembly, NO PE, NO Decals. Just painting needed. I also added some Pitroad and DML decals and that was it.
