I think the sea is a bit too light gray. Since Im assuming your going for the bad weather period close to D day. Id go with a more scowling blue gray. / violet gray. It looks too bright and sunny. Download some color pics of the sea off Scotland and you should get some good color comparison shots. We specialize in bad weather

I finished Shermans and jeeps. I picked up the first armoured because at the time of deplaning Shermans were equipped with plate armor on its flanks.

I am not a specialist of the armour, but to what I have understood, when initial commitments of Sherman (North Africa and Italy), he tended to catch fire after impact.

To remedy this problem the transitional solution to plates of armour in the front of the reserves of ammunition.

I still have to put boxes, jerricans and other elements on the back of tanks and jeeps.
These are photos of 16 tanks and 20 jeeps.

Very impressive work!

Just FYI, though, that little hedge cutter on the front of some of the Jeeps was actually a field modification made after the Allies started getting bogged down in the hedgerow country. Like the Rhino tank plow, they were made from scrap steel, which mostly came in the form of the beach obstacles that the Germans had set up to try and keep the Allies from landing vehicles!

They are actually wire cutters not hedge row cutters. You'd string a wire across a road to injure or kill couriers on motorcycles and in jeeps. We had them on our jeeps all the way up until the M151 Mutts were replaced by HUMMV's in the late 80's.

With these, I finished the most detailed vehicle Assembly. Now still me have about 50 trucks and ambulance and other logistics vehicles.

Hello,

'M back me with all completed vehicles. There are 130. C� made a nice military.

On the PE, Jean Mahieux has really done a great job. In looking closely vehicles, you will notice that trucks and other vehicles have all their mirrors.

An overview. All vehicles are ready for painting and Jeeps on the language falls before.



Some of the loads (bunch of boards and bags) from sets of Arsenal.



The following vehicles:

Ambulance dodges. I have planned a large number (20), because on the pictures of this period were can see ambulances everywhere. As you can see, the towels ice and mirrors are in place.











Trucks and trailers coach U8144.





On the picture below, the caption of the photo used an example to the realization of the PE, reference was made to a cargo of ammunition. In the diorama, I would rather call it cargo operations because in the Mulberry harbours, ammunition were landed on a platform dedicated to this purpose.







The rest of the loads to do. They come from other sets of Arsenal.

Hello,

I am in the right finish for vehicles. I painted vehicles in Olive Drab (UA brand LifeColor 2109) thinned with 30% white.

On the hoods of trucks and some Half-Track, I spent a thin layer of Khaki Olive Drab.

I painted (a true galley) tires in tire black (Tire Black UA 733 from Lifecolor).

Crawler armor I have reference LifeColor UA 734 Wom Black.

Then all finalized paintings, once I spent a layer of varnish glossy Prince August. The result has been to darken the hue. Fortunately the original paint was fairly clear.

Then I went to the sequence of laying of decals. I tried to closer to reality. But in looking at different pictures, the latter contradicted. The main contradiction concerns the location of the Red Cross on the top of the ambulance.

I finished passing a layer of Klir before past an Ochre yellow filter. I have completed the all with a natural shade Earth juice in hollows and illumination of the highlights with of the Naples yellow. This last step is the longest to do.

I enclose, below, some photos. Some are fuzzy and gum the effects of thinning. I can't produce photos representing vehicles such that I see before me.

What I want to know is how you shrunk them after you painted them?! Looks great!

Serious question: What do you use to adhear parts like that to the top of a tooth pick? I have tried this with planes using tape with frequently does not work. I have also tried using Scotch Removable Mounting Putty which can sometimes peel my paint off.

To keep vehicles on the toothpick is simple. I made ??a hole with a drill in 1mm underneath the vehicle. Then after I cut the end of the Cure tooth for that pension by forcing into the hole.

I finally finished vehicles. It is the last big part of the Diorama. I'll go to the sailors and soldiers and make the final implementation.



















The trucks below are intended to be installed on top of the LST. You will notice on top of loads of bikes designed by Jean.

























Looking more closely, you will notice the guns and other infantry weapons.

You Sir are a master craftsman!!!!

Hello,

This is the diorama of MULBERRY is completed. Reminder, the action of the Diorama is located on 16 June 1944, facing the beaches of Omaha Beach during the landing of the first LST on a pontoon MULBERRY

10 months of fun to get there.

For the implementation of the figurines, I tried to make the small scenes and not to small random figures. The sailors are at North Star and the soldiers are from the (Marine fighting positions) Arsenal.

Looking at the photos you will see that soldiers have their personal weapons.

Some will find that the number of vessels is too dense. But the testimonies of the time reference in a Black Sea of ships. In addition, the smaller the interval between barges is 53 mm approximately 18 meters in 1/350 scale.
