Hello All

After what seems like a lifetime and a diplomatic marathon.

I would like to let you all know that Bismarck 1:72 is available.
The hull is being manufactured here in England.
This will be available from Paul Simpson at PSSHIPS/Sirmar.

The Hull is available.
Plans are available.
Running set is available
Superstructure is available.

Fittings will be available as they are made.

Not for the faint hearted!

I will start a build thread on here so you can see progress.
I am offshore at the moment and will be home next week.

I received my hull a couple of weeks ago at 9 o'clock at night , I went straight into my shed and started work. At around 01:00 the Boss came in and asked me if I was coming to bed as we were to set off to the Blackpool show at 04:00.
I am framing it up at the moment
The running set will be at home waiting!
Thats Christmas for me!

I have posted some pics of the first pull of the hull to Dave Wooley. With a bit of luck he may post them today. I cannot post due to security settings.
The Scouse Git has a pic of the rudders in Brass. They have a couple of details which most rudders offered do not have. The ones offered by Paul of PSShips are in resin but still have the same detail. (The Git may like to post them also?

Price wise Paul is talking �1000.00 or $1890.00 approx. I think thats with plans, could be wrong.

The prices are as follows.

Hull = �1000

Running set = �140 (Scale Rudders, shafts, Props,
( A Frames.) Please note tubes
(extra long and have lubricators
(fitted.)

Plans = �TBA Set is in 1:144 (Probably the best on the
planet.) BY Nick Fox.

Superstructure = �1358.00 approx. (This varies with the
( Euro.) All Brass!

Fittings = TBA.

I was asked by Kiwi Medic to post up a few pictures of his progress on the monster 1:72nd Bismarck . All the frames have been installed and this leads on to the cutting out of the sub deck and all the openings . It's worth remembering this hull is just under 4m in length and there's still lots of room to spare. The next batch of pictures will show the installation of the running gear .

I really want it. I think i need a MUCH BIGGER PIGGY BANK!!!!! It would be to have mock battle with that thing v. my little corvette How long is it about 11 feet.

That's not a model ship, that's a canoe! Makes you realise how big this ship is... I thought my 1/72 Flower-class was large.

I'm guessing this will need a lot of ballast if it has an all-brass superstructure? (although the hull itself must be pretty weighty when the motors and batteries are fitted)

do the plans include a fishing rod holder and a cup holder? Trolling in the pride of the German Navy... seems like a good use of a kit.

I see the third picture up is the Kiwi Medic looking for ballast!

No doubt just out of shot are a couple of sacks of ready-mix concrete.

Hi All
I have been busy!
The framing is now fairly complete. ((Have ensured that deck has correct camber.) 3 More supports to put in once everything is in place.

Shafts and tubes fitted. (Drilled out fitted and back filled with resin.)
"A" frames are fitted. Made jigs for this job!

Rudders and tubes are fitted at proper angle. Another jig needed for this job.

Steering gear has been set up (Still waiting on Servos.) Two rudders = two servos and the servos are in the access area of the ship so there is never a problem to change or access a servo. (I will provide a photo and that will self explain.)
I have always done this with steering gear.

Port holes drilled out. (Did this at least twice!)

I do not believe the superstructure will influence the weight very much at all.
I will use a couple of car/truck batteries as ballast and use lead for the rest.

The weight will be approximately 96kg.

Dave has more photos that he will post when he can

WOW....

This will be a working model...?yes-

--how will you lauch her?-come to that how will you transport her to her sailing waters( Denmark Straits/Nort Atlantic..!)

With an loa like that she is longer than most larger UK vans except for the Mercedes sprinter..or will she have a custom box /van trailer buit for her...
