Hi All.
Yesterday was a sad, 71 anniversary of the tragedy of the USS Arizona.
Present to the latest magazine cover ships, and some renders of prepared for print, my newest book.
Greeting,
Viktor

Astounding renders! Especially the first one. I gather by the gulls that Cookie must be dumping the leftovers down the garbage scuttle.

That is just stunning.
Ditto on what soft, specifically, which renderer are you using? How much is rendered and how much is post-pro?
Awesome work.

When I first saw this I thought someone did a hell of a job with a Trumpeter 1/200 Arizona. But of course its just CGI. Now...Should we talk about what 'may' be wrong about these fantastic images? I'm not trying to be a spoiler, just don't want to have this used as The Perfect Guide for building a December 1941 Arizona. I don't want to come off as a bad guy, just trying to help those looking for good info. Thanks. (Tracy?)

As for the amount of postwork, check Peter Forkasiewicz's blog:

Leftie Too, please, tell us what is wrong with that picture.

There are many details incorrect on the first set of images. I have sent Viktor some corrections, but there is not enough time with his deadline to talk about small details, so I have focused on the large ones. Some of the things we have discussed
* on the second image, the top level should not have a wood deck; it was metal.
* "soft patches" on the aft deck were planked over and were not metal.
* The windows on the stack were open, not glass
* Missing searchlight just aft of the armored conning tower.
There are some details that I have questions about but do not have answers to correct him on, if that makes sense. No model will ever be 100% accurate. But we work withing time limits to make sure there are no gross errors.

Again, I don't want this to be an attack on these great CGI images, just a correction.
Everything Tracy said and...
1) I believe the blast should be blueish or dark gray...depending which camp you're in.
2) There are two (four) vertical support poles missing under the search lights.
3) Life boat tie down lines? Not sure.
4) Fuel Line on the right side? Don't think so.
I could be wrong on all of this, but I don't think so...

If you're referring to the ones on the lower level of the superstructure, those have been added as well as the shape of the platform underneath and the number of bars in the railings has been fixed.
