Going to watch this one for sure.....Im fond of these MS/PC's....currently have a WIP on the MSF 238 "Garland" 1/125 scale.
What scale is the dumas kit? Also who has it for sale?

The Dumas is 1/96 scale. I bought the kit at my LHS. (I paid too much for it, but it was right there and I figured it's good to support the LHS) Since they didn't shelve the running hardware, I ordered it from Tower. I'm going with the twin screw/rudder configuration. I'll likely order HR deck hardware from Floating Drydock.

Well do keep me/us updated with the build progress. I did a search and ordered one from Hobbylinc it was priced good so hey

First Mulit-media ship for me....!!! and first large scale also..
HR products has some good bits and equipment.....they seem to be a little slow in delivery...but if you plan things out....maybe they will ship when you need them.
Also...look at R&B models for fittings......... they have a very nice selection of deck equipment and such.....
And as a side note...I have the floating drydock CD for the Admirable class Sweeper.......not real sure if you could use that info....but for my AM/MSF 238 build it has been well worth the 29$ I spent for it.........it would seem all the deck and SS features are darn near identical( some deviation as noted in the plans) for both classes. Yes I know they are different in layout as far as guns and such....but the basic drawings are great for the benchmark point.
Looks to be a great project bro!

...make it a build log,...I could use the lesson for sure!!
Good luck!

That's great. I'm still early enough in the project that I haven't decided on doing a PCE or a minesweeper. So any photo references are definitely a help.
I've heard some things about HR being a bit slow, and also that their quality might be falling short. If it turns out to be an issue, I might go with Haynes fitting, even if the price is high.

I wasn't planning to do any filling with foam. I've heard the model is pretty sturdy once finished.

Not really moving quickly, just been doing it pretty regularly. I'll take my time when it counts.
