was working on my south dakota battle ship and got this idea
rather than once finished, stick on a shelf to gather dust, why not bring a use to it?
a ship bank came to mind
i have 6 trumpeter bb kits that can be built waterline or full hull
BB-57,60,61,62,63,and 64
57,south dakota is nearing completion

lots of little things yet to do but no reason, it can't start duty in it's secondary use
i'll be using 1 for each coin denomination
5,10,25 cents,$1 loonie, and $2 toonie
as the 5,10,and 25 fills, i can exchange the coins to loonies and toonies and transfer to the next ship
once the loonie or toonie ship fills, overflow can go to my bismarck
lol
this gives me reason to save(to get more ships)

what a loonie idea

loonie and toonie are canadian coins
$1 and $2
in canada, paper money starts at $5
plastic money at $20
in the pic above, you see large two colored coins toward the front of the hull
that's toonies aka $2

I know that I live near Sarnia. it was a pun that I couldn't resist

if i save enough loonies, i get a ship

my navy actually has to work to pay for their shelf space
one ship for each coin type
i even am using the bismarck for my american quarters
saving up the state coins
there's a customer that comes in at work every night that is also trying to collect them
any doubles i get, i give to her

That's actually a pretty darn good idea. Not one that I'd implement for myself because I usually don't have cash change that often and moreover already have a nifty little container that i drop it into that my OCD won't let me stop using

But now that I think about it, I should probably count it all up. Might have enough in there for a plastic model. Or at least some plaints and supplies.
