canvas covered railings?

I've seen people post about this but can't seem to find that now. I'd like to make some railings that are canvas covered. I've read about people using white glue on PE for this somehow - at least I recall having read that. Anyone have a tip on how to go about this?

Yes. Some glue on a toothpick/stick, then span the glue from one corner of the rectangular opening to the other side. Hold the stick parallel to the railing's plane. Make sure the stick maintains contact with both edges as you move from the starting corner, and then with the opposite edges as you move towards that opposite corner.

Hold the model as necessary to reduce pooling of the glue towards any particular edge or corner.

You can do this directly with paint. Basically if you brush paint PE this is the kind of "clogging" you're normally trying your best to avoid, but instead you're doing it deliberately!

Combine the two techniques - color some white glue with appropriate colored acrylic paint, then spread onto the railings as per Timmy C. If you want, you could use a crappy old paint brush.

Micro Scale "Crystal Clear" (an acrylic-type product) has great covering properties as it is for making tiny window panes in that method, but as it dries transparent, it would need to be colored first.
