I have done searches and cant come up with drawings of this ship or others in the flotilla. I'm sure I've just missed them but I'm looking to build her in 1/192. If anyone can send me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated. Its my first attempt at this so the learning curve will be a steep one. I have gathered where to get some of the detail items (Shapeways etc) but need the overall plan and profile. TIA

Steve

Just curious, what sort of ship is HMS Skate?

That took me to something saying no such entry but suggested a HMS Skate (1917) page which had a number of possibilities. R Class destroyer?

Thats the one. Are there plans out there somewhere? I have accumulated some more info but still haven't landed plans.

Hi,

HMS Skate was an Admiralty Class R Class Destroyer. There are plans for HMS Telemacus by John Lambert which was also a Admiralty Class R Class. They are a very good set of plans.

Cheers,
George

"British Destroyers" by Edgar J March, 1966 has drawings of the R class destroyer. Also a photo of a shiny HMS Romola in 1916 and a very well-worn HMS Skate in 1942.

British destroyers -from Earliest days to the second world war by Norman Friedman has a good overhead plan and profile of a wartime R (Radstock) as well as a good overview sketch of the changes made to HMS Skate in 1941. Hope this helps.
