Calling all Soviet WW2 destoyers and smaller ships fans
Hello,
As I plan to begin works on a Soviet Pr. 2/4/39 Uragan-class destroyer escort in summer, I start this thread. I am searching for photos, data, etc, on any soviet small ships, leaders, destroyers, minesweepers, patrol boats/DEs/coastal craft....

Mike,
The book Soviet Warship Development - Volume I: 1917-1937 by Siegfried Breyer gives a good overall view on soviet ships of that Era. Unfortunately regarding destroyers covers only to the Leningrad class only so Tashkent is not included in this volume. Not sure about Volume II since I don't own it.

Well, in 1/200 you can get a Project 7 destroyer from Trumpy. After WW2 however, so you'll need some scratchbuilding to backdate it.
Also, I have seen a few 1/700 ones from Combrig:
7U destroyer Soobrazitelniy - kit 70212
Tral minesweeper, Storm sloop, OD-200 & MO-4 - 70202 - going to get this as a Camo test for my 1/72 Uragan/Storm class
Tashkent 70214
Novik 70215
3 other novik subtypes are also available..

How much do you want for them?mike mccabe wrote:Petr
If you go to the features articles page for 2003 there is a good article there by Vladimir Yakubov on his Novik build. By the way if you want some of the little 1:700 G-5s as in my photo, I still have the mould and could copy you some, let me know.
Mike
Also, I found some more kits, Samek makes a Pr. 7 destroyer Razumni, and leader Tashkent.

Now, if those were in a man's scale, like 1/350...mike mccabe wrote:Petr

Okay, I just finished a first part (hull projections, cross sections, fitting of Uragan in 42, fitting of a Uragan-class ship after modernization) of the 1/72 plans for Uragan-class, based on the Morskaya Kollekciya 1/200 plans. If someone is interested, contact me. Remaining plans will follow in a few days.

Here is a great site with lots of detailed drawings of Soviet ships and boats. If you run the URL through Babelfish, you can get a pretty good translation, too.
http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/ships/
I have a bunch of rather odd Soviet boats in 1/600 in my line:
RU1 Type 1125 AMGB (Armored gunboat w/T-34 turret)
RU2 Type D3 MTB (Wooden hulled MTB)
RU3 M04 Subchaser (Patrol boat w/2-45mm guns)
RU4 Type 1125 "Katyuska" Armored gunboat (w/rocket rails)
RU6 TK Class MGB (MGB version of D3 MTB w/ 37mm aft.)
RU7 BMO Class Subchaser (Armored patrol craft with 37mm)
RU8 DB Class Landing craft ( Used in Black Sea 1943-45. Includes 37mm for AA escort version)
RU9 Russad Class Tank Landing Craft 1943(WW1 designed craft used in Black Sea 1942- 1943. Includes M3 Stuart light tank)
RU10 SM-3 Steel Hull MTB (Prototype boat used for long range attacks in Black Sea 1941-44. )
RU11 Komsomlets MTB Late war MTB used in the Baltic
RU12 MBKA Type 161 Armored Gunboat With 2-T-34 turrets
RU13 Stalnoi SM-1&2 MTB 1942
RU14 Tupolov "Aero-Glisser" Armed Airboat (3)
RU15 M class Coastal Submarine
Hope to someday finish the SM-4 MTB and do some Bolshevik Dvina River gunboats.

Mike,
Here is the MK page on the Tashkent...
http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/ships/tashkent.htm
Nice G-5s. Skytrex does them in 1/600 so I never tried to "muscle in" on that one. I prefer to do all else.
My fav is the D-3 MTB.
